Hardly anyone cares about basketball. Don't make a large investment of capital in a program that is the 3rd or 4th sport that people care about at lsu. It doesn't warrant such an investment.

Just hire some guy that is competent and capable of getting lsu to .500 level of play and doesn't embarrass us on a weekly basis. That's all I ask.

Save the money for other sports that most people care about. That is the prudent and responsible thing to do when you have a finite amount of resources.

Maybe it's just me but I think we should strive for championships in every sport we field. Why play if you don't mean to win it all?

Use basketball money to go towards the shadow staff and football recruiting budget.

Louisiana high school basketball recruits need to pick back up. That's the only way we'll be decent

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you speak for everyone. Last year when Simmons was here, we had multiple sellouts and averaged 10-11k and weren't even good.

A team that won and went to the NCAA tourney would be a great return on investment

I've said this a million times and I'll say it again. Basketball is the biggest money maker behind only football. When our basketball program is good, the PMAC will be full again.

Unlike your idiotic statement, many people here love basketball. Even when we aren't the best, and play a good team, the PMAC is full. Just as it was against UK last year.

You shouldn't put your stupidity on record for the world to see.

Another one speaking with no knowledge.

Louisiana still produces damn good talent, but who the hell wants to play for Jones?

Winning consistently makes people care. Johnny has pretty much killed the program, so of course no one gives a shite at the moment

Go cheap, get cheap results. Why not hire a local high school coach with a good record and pay him the lowest salary permissable?

Imagine if fans said back before nick saban was hired, " we shouldnt spend big money on a new football coach because our football team sucks." A whole lot of ignorance in this thread. We could be a top basketball program again 10 years from now. You just never know
