To me this smells like Alleva was pressured into Jones and AD is covering tracks by giving the impression that a real search is going on. If it's Jones that we do hire than there should be for sale signs in Alleva's yard the next day, IMO.

As I said in the other thread, may not want it known he spoke to Dixon because they haven't gone through the proper channels with Pittsburgh, asking permission to speak with him and all. Alleva said in the advocate that everyone at North Texas knows Jones is a candidate and they went through the proper channels.

There is way too much smoke about Jones for it to be Jones, IMO.
If it is him, what is the holdup? Something is going on behind the scenes, hopefully it's Jamie Dixon and neither party is wanting to admit to it, which is normal, so they just keep denying it. There is no way we have not had contact with him at this point. The more they deny it, the better I feel about it.
