Seems like the UGA AD had some control.
The A&M AD seems to have a lot of pull to force LSU to play on Thanksgiving.

How many are griping about the game were the same people on here saying get A&M, get Texas, get 2 more teams.
frick all that. People tried to warn you it was bad news. Sure they bring a TV market....however having lived less than an hour from College Station for a while LSU had more games on TV than A&M did by a wide margin locally.
I have a feeling A&M is going to get pissed ballooned x2 now.

The SEC only schedules the 8 league games, so there are 5 open weeks (6 this year and the next couple) where teams fill in their own OOC games and determine when their actual bye will be.
In 2016 they will likely see to it that we have no conference game the weekend prior to Thanksgiving leaving us the option to keep it as the bye or fill it with a 1AA type team. I'm guessing we keep the bye prior to Alabama and schedule someone like Furmam before A&M.

Well said. Alleva is spineless. I don't care how much money he raises or how many Tiger Stadium windows he replaces, the man is a class A wimp. I can't believe the best we could do for an AD is the guy behind the Duke lacrosse scandal. I'm willing to bet that Duke didn't try very hard to keep Alleva when LSU came calling.

It's been that way for a long time. Alabama and to a slightly lesser extent Georgia and Tennessse have most of the pull over there. Who do you think wants to make sure that LSU and Florida continue to play each other every year? And now you have A&M with the biggest TV market in the conference behind them.

I'm curious as well as to why he gets so much hate...... Y'all act as if he starts making all these demands, they'll actually be granted. I think we all know that the league office isn't going to go out of their way to do LSU any favors. And I'm not sure many of us are privy to his day to day communications with the league, so it's kind of hard to judge.
Sometimes I think you guys just bitch to bitch. We've been bitching about the poorest sound system. It was upgraded under his watch, but he gets slammed here for mentioning it in the interview after he clearly answered the question about the south end zone scoreboard being down for quite sometime.

Look I'm not a huge Alleva fan but if anyone thinks with another AD we'd have any more influence with the SEC office they're crazy.
