Well for openers at least negotiate for something in return. Hell he couldn't even get a guarantee out of it that we wouldn't get stuck playing a&m on Friday when they come here. I understand there is give and take, but I'm tired if LSU always giving.

He got a guaranteed bye week before the Thursday game.

Exactly what is he supposed to do?

Not agree to playing A&M on Thanksgiving night. The SEC can't force LSU to do it. Alleva said that LSU agreed to it.

Will that be our only bye?

If so, that's not negotiating.

For 2014 only. There are two bye weeks in 2014. In 2016, there will be one bye week. Do you want to play 11 straight games just to have the bye week before the last game of the year?

Look I'm not a fan of the thanksgiving game, but can anyone else list some legitimate complaints about Alleva besides this scheduling fiasco? Seems to me like the guy has raised a lot of money, made great hires, and is doing a great job of improving facilities LSU has neglected for nearly decades. I just do not get it. He's done a 1000x better job than skip Bertman did here

Sure they can.

LSU got the only deal it could out of this. The SEC wanted that game on thanksgiving, LSU got a bye week before the game and doesn't have to play on Thursday on the return trips. Not much more you can ask for

You wanna bet they can't tell LSU when they are playing.

He allowed a LSU team that went 10-2 against the toughest schedule in the nation to fall behind two teams with the same record, lower ranked, and we beat head to head in the bowl slotting.

You think an AD had any input in that?

He does deserve credit for some things for sure.

It's not his fault the Outback Bowl always takes an East team and A&M was the most talked about 10-2 team I can ever recall. Plain and simple A&M would put more asses in the seats. If it were a similar situation between LSU and A&M for the Sugar Bowl I'd confidently bet we'd get the bid.

So you mean to say that the AD of a founding member of the conference can't get his way over a school that's been in the conference a year?

not what I'm saying at all, that doesn't answer my question though as to what you want him to do.

I thought he has been pretty vocal about not liking the 6-1-1 format and has made noise about it.

How bout a guaranteed Saturday night game with A&M in 2015?

You know who doesn't play the Friday after Thanksgiving? Alabama. Don't tell me the Iron Bowl wasn't more attractive than LSU/Arkansas. You know why the Iron Bowl isn't on Friday? Because Nick Saban doesn't want to play on Friday. That's a fact!

So you guys are telling me that the SEC can force LSU to play on Thanksgiving Night but can't force Alabama to play on Friday? I call BS.

The LSU admin needs to man up!

Yes, the UGA AD.

The Cap 1 wanted A&M.
The Cotton Bowl wanted LSU.

UGA cried, and the SEC stepped in and moved the bowl slots around. They admitted as much.

2005 LSU got the shaft, but in 2012 the SEC is all about fairness. Really, it's only about fairness for UGA.

I feel sorry for you if you think LSU or anyone else in the conference for that matter has as much pull as Alabama and Nick saban. Those assholes are hotter than Hanzel, and they're leading the charge for the strongest conference in the country. I always hear from Arkansas fans how awesome Jeff Long is and how much pull the flagship, but he wasn't able to keep the LSU thanksgiving game. And that's the same AD who was heavily courted by Stanford. So Alleva must have more pull than you asshats think

It's not even out of the realm of possibilities that we would have gotten the cotton bowl bid if JFF wouldn't have won the heisman. It's not alleva's fault the team slept walked after the Alabama loss and A&M's team got hot, but more importantly they boasted the first freshman heisman winner.

It helps to get to play the weak links from the East while your top competition plays 2 top 10 teams from the East.

The Cap 1 wanted A&M. The SEC office made them take UGA. The Cotton Bowl wanted LSU over UGA.

You're preaching to the choir, bud, but again that's just another issue fans point the finger at Alleva for that he has no control over
