Ah, because running a business is about having cojones rather than skillful planning and research.

I think it was more he doesn't want to work. Finding a coach is a lot of pressure and work.

yea.

He was just going to give him a raise anyway, but he caved and gave it to him two months early.

What a fricking bitch right?

note this deal was in the workings for a while the rumor speed up the process he would probably get an extension after the bowl game anyway. This just made it happen earlier.

There was no bluff, Miles was getting a pay raise. He just used the Arkansas offer to show his market value.

Researched Miles' record

And ensuring to everyone, not just Arkansas, that Les is OUR coach, and will be that way

Les has a great agent. Arkansas calls for another one of his guys. He says no, then gets a bullshite offer out of them. I don't want Les to leave. He's done a great job at LSU. He does NOT deserve a raise though. Alleva should have called his bluff. He wasnt going anywhere.

Why would he? Miles deserves every dollar of that raise and Alleva knows it... that's why Alleva is AD and rantards are rantards. LSU is an elite powerhouse under Les Miles, and if I were Alleva, I would be willing to spend millions to keep the machinery in place to keep things that way.
