Bingo. As someone who has been in higher ed and at Alabama, Georgia, I can tell you F.King's main job is to basically keep the school afloat as a flagship research university, while the state legislature used LSU's budget to give you tax breaks. They brought him explicitly because he has the reputation for knowing how to run a school with more students and fewer faculty.

Every single time you or your kids complain that they can't get the class required for their degree program or whatever. Thats because LSU doesn't have enough instructors to teach those courses for the number of students that needs to take this. They rely on international graduate students for teaching and their ability to do that with graduate students is also being stretched thin. Graduate students don't graduate by teaching classes and their competition (alabama and georgia) doesn't make them teach as much as LSU does.
