re: All we need is good QB play right?

(Still don't see how this is relevant to 2015)
It isn't. Someone said something about only having 2 bad QB's under Miles and threw Lee in the "good" pile with Russell, Flynn, and Mett. I laughed at that and then people started yelling about 1/9. We are, after all, in the rant.

quote:Well, until I see the defense this year, it would be impossible to say if QB play is "all" we need.
And then it should be a shoe in for a national championship?
But, I can say without absolutely no trepidation that if our QB play is not SUBSTANTIALLY better than it was last year, we will still blow about 5 games.
And, if the defense happens to fall off on top of our shitty QB play? Well..........let's just try not to think about it.

Statistically" Lee was the better quarterback in every way
Actually no he wasn't. JJ has a higher career compl%, higher career yards/game and a higher td/int ratio but I'm sure facts don't matter to you

Honey Badger is who took the fight out of Arkansas in that game.
So JJ didn't have the season's best game of any lsu qb against Arky? Yes he did. 208 yards passing ,62 % completion and 58 yards rushing. These are facts.

Because we played Western Kentucky and an Ole Miss team that was weaker than Western Kentucky. Are you obtuse?
The month of November was by far our hardest month. I didn't just use jj's starts. I used november. When we played 2 top 3 teams.

It's crazy that anyone can look back and defend that pitiful shite unless they just didn't watch football all season
Because facts prove you wrong. November was by far our best offensive month. Sorry you don't like those facts but that's what they are.
Facts proving our offense got better in the last month of the regular season when we played 2 top 3 teams. get over it. our offense didn't suck when JJ was the starter.

quote:Really? Because this was my exact post:
Someone said something about only having 2 bad QB's under Miles and threw Lee in the "good" pile with Russell, Flynn, and Mett.
quote:I definitely put Lee in a category of his own after his stable performance in the first 8 games but lemme get this straight: you're such a moron that you're going to twist a statement that I made 12 hours ago but you think that your opinion is credible about events that happened 4 years ago?
Jamarcus Russell, Matt Flynn, RP, Mett, even Jarrett Lee looked alright his senior year. The only shitty QB's he's had have been Jefferson and Jennings since he got here

quote:Not really, one person mentioned 9-6 in a reply to you and you opened the door for the JL vs JJ debate. And you're the one who singled out JL in my original post when he was nothing more than a side note. I said that Les Miles had had 3 good QB's, 1 mediocre QB, and 2 terrible QB's (1 of which still has room to improve although it's unlikely) in his tenure and I was exactly right.
I laughed at that and then people started yelling about 1/9
People have given you stats. People have given you extremely detailed breakdowns of the 5 games that JJ started vs the 8 games that JL started. People have repeatedly broken down why your twisted stats are bullshite. You still choose to see Jarrett Lee as a garbage QB who was worse than honestly the most painfully bad junior/senior QB I've ever seen at LSU. Not sure what to tell you, go back through this thread and check out your downvotes, you're in the very very small portion of the fanbase that sees Jefferson as better than Lee

really.... Wow I thought you knew how to read... Go to my post with the outcome of each game and try to tell me honestly that November was the hardest month and look at the results of the games Lee played the majority in and the games that JJ played mostly in... Its not really that close.. IF you can have an open mind...

quote:We passed for 700+ yards in September when Lee started, 700+ yards in October when Lee started, and 500 yards in November after Jefferson came back. Our passing offense was substantially worse with him in the game. Our total yards spiked because we played against the 2 of the worst rushing defenses that we faced all year in Ole Miss and Western Kentucky along with a bad Arkansas. Do you really not understand that your "facts" don't involve Jordan Jefferson at all? Why don't you look at the passing stats that, you know...actually involve the quarterback instead of adding rushing stats in there that Jefferson didn't really have an effect on?
Because facts prove you wrong. November was by far our best offensive month. Sorry you don't like those facts but that's what they are.
Here's a fact for you:
Average passing yards in the 8 games that Lee got the majority of the snaps: 183
Average passing yards in the 6 games that Jefferson got the majority of the snaps: 111
Want to bitch and leave out the postseason? He still only threw for an average of 146 yards.
And if Jefferson did such a good job bolstering our running game then why did we only rush for 38 yards against Alabama? You'd think that if he was such a secret weapon rushing sparkplug we would've at least run for 100 yards considering we did it in 13 straight games beforehand

You mean we rushed for more yards with a mobile QB and passed for more yards with a dropback passer?
Color me shocked.

146 seems really high for the postseason.... You telling me that JJ passed for 292 yds In those two games????? Maybe I missed something......

I can think of a few reasons...
Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, first round
C.J. Mosley, LB, first round
Ed Stinson, DE, fifth round
Vinnie Sunseri, S, fifth round
Dee Milliner, CB, first round
Nico Johnson, LB, fourth round
Quinton Dial, DE, fifth round
Jesse Williams DT, fifth round
Mark Barron, S, first round
Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, first round
Dont’a Hightower, LB, first round
DeQuan Menzie, CB, fifth round
Courtney Upshaw, DE, second round
Josh Chapman, DT, fifth round
Want to compare how many players from that team LSU had drafted on offense?

Yup... That Bama D was impressive...........
But yet UGA's D wasn't as good and JJ really wasn't a factor in the win... His games against Ole Miss and WKU were against a couple of the worst D's in the country.....

quote:Arkansas had the 73rd ranked rushing defense, Ole Miss had the 118th ranked rushing defense, and Western Kentucky was terrible. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, the fact that we were playing teams with terrible rushing defenses might have had something to do with our sudden spike in rushing yards?
You mean we rushed for more yards with a mobile QB and passed for more yards with a dropback passer?
We averaged over 310 yards rushing in the 3 games that Jefferson started. Jefferson averaged 33.3 yards in those 3 games.
But the spike in rushing was definitely because of him and not the fact that we faced weaker than average defenses and our running backs went off!!11!!!

Sad thing is there are a million screen captures like that you could have used. Jefferson may have had the worst demeanor of any QB we've had since I've been around.
He embarrassed the program off the field and that is how I will always remember him.
Still doesn't mean Jarrett Lee was going to beat Alabama without a running game.

He passed for 50 vs Bama and 30 vs Georgia. The postseason skewed his numbers down and I left them out because I knew he was going to bitch if I included them just to show that we were worse against normal teams with Jefferson
