But your argument getting to Lange gives him the same rest Poche would have had today

WTF?

You don't get it. Lange pitching Wednesday is a situation that he HAS to pitch on short rest. Even if Poche pitches tonight, we still have to pitch Reynolds tomorrow. So why pitch Poche on shorter rest than you have to?

I can't put it any simpler. If you don't understand this, you never will.

Florida ain't throwing a Russell Reynolds at us tomorrow:

You and Karl Ravech can both take that stat and shove it up your asses. How many of those 10 teams had their 2 ace pitchers set to pitch Games 2 and 3?

Also, I wasn't in the dugout, but for those blaming Mainieri for leaving in Reynolds too long, it looked like he wanted to pull him and Dunn talked him into letting him face one more batter. You weren't going to pull him for walking the first one after facing the minimum, but it looked like Paul had the hook ready when he walked that second batter. Still on him for letting Dunn talk him into sticking with Reynolds if that is what happened, but I think he did want to pull him. Just an observation.

Things did look a tad dicey at that point between those two.

No, pitching wasn't terrible.

But if you can start a pitcher who gives up a walk, a hit, and a run per inning that leaves after walking the bases loaded and lose by a run, what would have happened if you had pitched your SEC Fri night starter on the same days rest you propose we pitch Lange if we're lucky enough to win tmrw?

We almost stole one...so close. Imagine winning this game and have pouche and Lange available to win game 2...with Hess laying in the ditch waiting for them to get close. Lol.

Would have been filthy

I will play the match up and numbers game all day with Singer. Instead of hoping Poche pitching on day less rest, throws better becuase he feels like it's a must win.

Was Hess available tonight?

No, I don't think FL gets 3 runs off Poche tonight.

Florida got 4 runs off of him in 4.0 innings earlier this year. Poche gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in those 4 innings. Pitching Poche on short rest would have been a bad move when you didn't HAVE to have him.

Now on Wednesday, you HAVE to have Lange so he has to pitch on short rest. If it was a 5 game series Lange wouldn't throw on Wednesday, but it's a 3 game series so he will have to.

Florida isn't fearing Poche, fellas...

Poche pitching tonight could have relaxed just like everyone else. If he loses, we're not out of it.

Poche and the team have the pressure to win tmrw.

10 out of 14 times. That's not a guess. That's rock solid history.

If you don't understand that........

And since you are trying to be such a hard-arse about it, I will point you to this again:

This whole, what FL did against Poche months ago argument is ridiculous. We are a different team and he has been waiting for this for 4 years. He is not only pitching for his childhood dream, or the fact that it's the CWS. He is going down as a 40 win pitcher after we beat them Tomorrow, this is LSU that's history. Give it a rest go to bed. We fine.

You don't get it

Lange pitching WEDNESDAY is the same rest that Poche would have had TODAY

Read that again

You dont get it

Pitch Poche today on SHORT REST. You MAYBE get 6 (optimistic) out of him against Singer who was fricking dealing.

Toss up whether you win or lose at best.

Then game 2 youre throwing wholestaff anyway, because youre not throwing your 2 aces b2b on short rest.

Not when you have the option to try and piece it together and steal one AND give your 2 aces an extra day of rest.

We understand that Lange will be pitching on the same rest as Poche would have today, but give them AND Hess the extra rest.
