All I am hearing is how great Georgia’s defense is. So I looked at their schedule to see what offense’s they have played. This is how the teams that they have played are ranked in total offense:

Notre Dame #47
Vandy #123
Murray St (couldn’t find don’t matter)
Arkansas St #44
Tennessee #100
South Carolina #96
Kentucky #80
Florida #54
Missouri #94
Auburn #53
A&M #71
Georgia Tech #127

Our Tigers are ranked #2 in total offense. I guess what I’m getting at is this Georgia defense has not seen anything like what they will see on Saturday. Burrow and the squad going in dry on Saturday.

I agree. They are talented, no doubt. But it's not hard to stop offenses that are not very efficient. I'm just ready for this game already.

I think they mentioned the Murray St was ranked 60th in FCS.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that UGA faced 5 backup QB's as starters for the UGA game. To repeat: The aggies' Monds, in the rain, put up 275 yards through the air. JB usually has that in a quarter and a half.

Between the 3 common opponents, being UF, AU, AtM.

LSU vs those 3
115 - 55

UGA vs those 3
64 - 44

If our defense plays somewhere in between and gives up an average of those 3 teams, 18pts, then UGA is in trouble.

Notre Dame #47 - Played their starter, 29/47 for 275 2tds 2 picks

Vandy #123 - played their starter, who cares

Murray St (couldn’t find don’t matter) - assume they played their starter, who cares

Arkansas St #44 - assume they played their starter, who cares

Tennessee #100 - Played their back-up, who cares

South Carolina #96 - lost to their starter, wow

Kentucky #80 - Played starter, who went 2-15 for 17 yards but had 17 carries for 99 yards

Florida #54 - Played Trask (better than Franks), 21-33, 257 2 tds 0 picks

Missouri #94 - Played their second and third string, who cares

Auburn #53 - played their starter, 30-50 for 245 1 touchdown, 13 carries for 42 yards and a touchdown

A&M #71 - played their starter, 25/42 275 yds 1 touchdowns, 9 carries -8 yards.

I'm as realistic a LSU fan as you're likely to find. If UGA can't muster 17 to 20 points in the first half, they're in trouble, IMHO.

I know they're fond of their defense and it is a solid unit. If our pass protection isn't effective enough early for us to keep the a clean pocket and score, mainly due to their DL play, it will be a game. If pass protection holds up (as it did, generally, against Florida, Auburn and Bama who all have comparable/better defensive line players as UGA), then it will be a long, long day for the UGA defense and their offense simply doesn't have the horsepower to keep up - "shitty" LSU defense or not.

Sc threw for a total of 155 yards through 4 quarters plus 2 overtimes.

the whole "they've only played backups" thing is wildly overblown, as you graciously pointed out. The only 2 games that we really truly played a backup QB were UK and Mizz, neither of which would have mattered anyway.

Wait wait wait . . Bo Nix completed 60% of his passes vs Georgia? The same Bo Nix that completed less than 45% against LSU?

Burrow about to eat.

Incredible. Of all those teams, only Arkansas State (located in mostly rural Craighead County, atop Crowley's Ridge) has anything resembling an offensive juggernaut!

Do the Dogs really bring anything worthwhile...to the table?

It was 21-0 entering the 4th quarter and AU hadn't done a damn thing all day. We started playing zone instead of man and let them dink and dunk the rest of the way. Not to mention they completely abandoned their run game. But you can take from statistics what you want I suppose.

So in your opinion, did you play a good offense? The best three offenses you played, put up about 750 passing yards on you. You didn't play one single good offense.

Dude quit beating your chest on this as if it matters. Lsu was up more than that on bama and gave up late yards and points. Same for ole Miss. You act like those yards don't count. They do. Explain mond 275?

I was responding to the critiques of "omg did you see how many yards mond and nix threw for!?!?"

There is a very crystal clear reason why those guys threw for the yards they did, not coincidentally most of which were in the 4th quarter.

I never claimed we've played any great offense. I still think our defense is elite and the best you'll face this season. By a good margin at that.

LSU beat the brakes off a team ga struggled with the week before.

the dogs will have to play a great game and the ball will have to bounce their way for them to win.

It will be no better than Florida or ga. Which, they have good d...and you might be better, but not by a large margin. Lsu put up damn near 1100 yards on those two. It's hard to rate your d when they play nobody with an elite offense.

Btw, against the best 3 common opponents, LSU and Georgia were practically even on defense, and lsu a huge advantage on offense.

Fair. What do you say for the stats for all the QBs that faired pretty damn well against your staunch defense? Bad outing?

I assume you mean that Mond threw for as many yards as he did because the game was in hand. Well... the game definitely wasn't in hand at the time.

My take is that UGA will keep it close by limiting us to field goals and moving the ball against our defense. They will et timely sacks against us and may stop us short on the goal line.

However, if our defense creates turnovers and produces a number of three and outs like they're capable of, I think our offense will punch in a few touchdowns.

I think the first half ends 24-10, LSU. We stall in the 3rd on offense like we always do, but defense comes clutch.

Final score...31-17.
