Ummm...Floyd had a great record almost behind the scenes....and was a mid first rounder I believe....we had two studs starting...relief was our concern
Go read the threads leading into the end of the 2023 season. Floyd had nearly a 6.00 ERA in SEC play. No one was confident in him leading into the postseason. We had 2 relief pitchers with a sub 5.00 ERA (both having had season ending injuries) and no real third starter. A lot changed in the NCAAT and Omaha, which was kind of the point of my comment.

Also, the firepower was way more in 2023 from the offense.
No shite? But without pitchers stepping up, we don't win in 2023. The offense didn't exactly crush the ball in Omaha outside of one game. What happened was pitchers who had been completely unreliable during the season had career outings when it mattered.

Stats: 2023 - 2025
BA: .308 - .306
OPS: .986 - .941
H/G: 10.5 - 10.1
BB/G: 5.8 - 5.4
TB/G: 18.8 - 17.3
R/G: 8.9 - 8.2
This year’s offense is virtually identical to 2023 with exactly one difference: home run production. And to that end, this year’s team has bumped up the number of doubles to nearly match the per game XBH totals.
None of this is to discredit the 2023 team. I think they were great, but this idea that they were head and shoulders above this year is completely false. Literally the only noticeable difference is home runs.

I don’t know why people are surprised? We have struggled on the road all year.

LSU Fighting Tiger Baseball gonna take it away! We are definitely taking 2, and I will not be surprised if we sweep them stinky hogs.
