All I know is we've got a much better arm at QB than last year...

When I watched Max throw, it made me cringe.

And Aggie is excited about him starting for the whisperer.

Another win for LSU...

Their first day of Spring Ball was yesterday......the true freshman Weigman already showed he has more arm talent than Max or King and it wasn’t close.

They still don’t have shite at WR.

Jimbo’s system won’t allow receivers to flourish. The two highly ranked guys they just signed will likely end up leaving, especially Evan Stewart.

Agree there! If your not running spread, or a variation of, then you are in the Stone Age.

I don’t know about LSU QB situation w/ BK but he knows what he’s doing.
If I was GM and could trade Max Johnson for Jayden Daniels, I’d make that trade.

Either one will be better than last years qb play. Just look at Daniels numbers as a freshman when he had someone to throw to. 17 tds and 2 ints plus hurting the d with his legs.

Against Oregon as a freshman he threw 3 of the most beautiful deep balls you will ever see. Throws that max has never seen and with more touch than Brennan has had.

I was skeptical at first but once I watched about 8 games from his three years as a starter , I can say that he is extremely talented. The covid year can be thrown out ,because he was having to go weeks without playing or practicing. It was chaotic , especially in the pac 12 and especially for Arizona state that year.

Last year he was used to run because the receivers and line wasn’t good. He still showed flashes of his freshman year and was better reading defenses.

Try to spend a little time watching him play his freshman year and last year before you come out with a strong opinion. Really dynamic and talented player. With our talent he will rush for 500 yards at least and will have a few damn good receivers to throw to like he did as a freshman.

I don't buy "Max doesn't have the arm" He proved it
He had zeero ability to extend plays with his legs
Ya gotta have 1st downs to keep your D off the field

His deep ball looked like a 9 iron shot. No zip, just loft.

He seemed to peak early; over the season, just didn't see any improvement. Longterm, I think we will be much better off without him. I still think Aggy took him for purpose of getting his brother- meanwhile, Max has no easy road to starting, surely Jimbo didn't promise that he would start!

The Aggies were looking at Max Johnson like “OMG!…. That’s Jason Borne!”

For some reason, Max was rated higher on 247s transfer portal rankings than Daniels and Brennan.

I think Max has a good enough arm to get the job done. His delivery is too slow and what’s between his ears is just as slow. The guy takes too long to decide where to throw the ball. I seriously doubt Max Johnson starts at Texas A&M. You literally have to time his release with a sun dial. My gosh we had wide open receivers all year long and by the time Max made his mind up where to throw it some DL was chasing him out of the pocket or was all up in his grill. Sort of wish we would have just played young Nussmeier and took our lumps early because he at least wasn’t scared to make a quick decision. Operating behind our OL we needed a QB with a much quicker release.
