That would be huge for our offense. If we start at the 35 - 40 we have a much better chance of having some offensive success. Drivung 80 - 90 yards we have no shot, driving 60 - 70 is reasonable.

Cade was doing an excellent earlier in the year, and a few games ago he went back to his old ways. Its a lot easier for the returner to get yards when he is catching at the 5 yard line. The coverage isnt awful, its the kicking.

You mean Shelley.
And I don't think he has the raw leg power or tackling abilities of Foster. I think Foster's problem is his technique. He gets really close to the ground when he makes contact, and I think that screws up the distance on his kick.

Hopefully Ford will party like it is 1981.

Those are Cade Foster's stats.
I was referring to Smelley who is 9-9, but nothing over 40. I guess Foster is the option for long kicks, but yet she struggles to kickoff....??

You're preaching to the choir

of course, Smelley was just too easy. He did stink it up last year in the first game. or maybe that was foster...I think that's right. Shelley only had one of his attempts blocked. Foster missed 3 times right?

Not the first time I've heard this. It's a good thing Alabama hasn't had to rely on Special Teams to win yet. It'd be nice if it was just complacency, but what's your opinion on why he's regressed?

Last year? Yeah. Foster was good in the NCG, and had been really solid this season until a couple games ago. No idea what happened, but he is returning to what we're used to, sadly.

I, along with most others, am positive that it is just mental. The guy can kick the shite out the ball, but you can see it on the field before he kicks. He just has to psyche himself up so much sometimes that you can almost predict when he is for sure going to frick up a kick.

Fluker is also weak in pass coverage. Hope mingo has a field day on him.

Giving LSU a chance at FG's and some Les Miles 4th down conversions. Just the kind of game Les likes.

The fact that Alabama can not cover a kickoff is no big secret. We freaking suck at it, and have for a few years now. I'd be fine either pooch kicking it and causing an upback to fair catch it, squib kicking it, or just kicking it out of bounds every time. The opponents get it at the 40 or better every time we kick anyway.

This is what's so fuuny, Everyone bitches about our Oline and supposedly Bama has the best OL in the nation, know how many more sacks we have given up then them?
Im sure they are running more people out on routes too. We've been keeping a lot of people in to protect so you really can't judge the olines by sacks

they should allow russell shepherd to return kicks

It's mainly the continued shite that is Cade Foster.
So, he's still around? I figured Saban had "processed" him after being the MVP of last year's game.

I expect LSU to have plenty of opportunities to try to exploit our KO coverage Saturday night.

Foster is told each time whether to kick it short and high to the goal line or kick it into/through the EZ. Notice that in the MO game, he switched effortlessly from the high kick to kicking through the EZ - in a heavy rain...
