How does that not support his point? He said take out the last 8 or so years. That leaves them with more national championships than us and a very good number of Big 10 titles considering their time in it. A better argument might have been:

Yes, I know your team is historically a very good one, and while I wouldn't go as far as to call our program mediocre, it certainly doesn't have the historical relevance as Penn State. That said, you are dwelling in the past to compensate for your lack of present success. In the last few years, LSU has been a relevant program, and Penn State not.
