LSU wouldn't have to change a thing. Cameron didn't run his Baltimore Ravens offense last season like he did the previous year with Mettenberger...He showed a lot of different concepts to fit his personnel...

Slow down there Sonny Jim, we don't play for no titles here, 9-3 is all we need and all we want.

And to the guy that wrote this article, you keep mentioning Russel Shepard and I don't know why. It became clear after fall practice of his freshman year that he would never play QB here

Hindsight is 20/20; I remember quite a few people agonizing about why he wasn't getting a chance over Lee and Jefferson well into his sophomore year. I mean the guy was the No.1-ranked QB just a couple of seasons earlier.

If we go the next two or three years and Jennings stays the QB, people will say it was clear Harris wasn't going to be the QB during his freshman season...

But great point about the long term growth quip...It's about winning. Especially at a great place like LSU.

I find it hard to believe that what I saw against NMSU was an anomaly. I know it was against NMSU, but he was lights out.

63 points? 2014 LSU offense did that. crazy.

Again, Braxton does not have two years of eligibility remaining.

Unless the rule has changed, you wrote this article for no reason.

Shepard and Harris are nothing alike. When Shepard came in there were alot of questions about his arm talent, but nobody questioned his athleticism. With Harris, everybody knows he has the arm talent, its just about putting it together mentally. Harris is a QB first and foremost, he will stay a QB

Please elaborate, DBU. Are you going to sit there and say Jennings and Harris ran a conventional pro-style stretch-vertical attack last season -- like he did with Flacco and the guys a few seasons ago?

Please tell me you're playing. That Cam offense didn't look remotely the same as it did in the past. And had it did, with the lack of a competent QB, then you guys have more problems than I thought...

But I broke down every game, tactic, concept and scheme and I'm here to tell you; Cameron evolved his scheme...But o well, what do I know?

Shepard could've waited Jefferson out in hopes of being the QB his senior year as I believe Jefferson was only a year ahead. But the guy wanted to play football so he asked to be switched so he could play.

But hey, we could get a thousand different opinions on that subject. It's all good. Harris looks to have some talent, but Jennings was one of the worst QBs this season in our conference -- although I love his arm talent -- and Harris couldn't beat him out...

I hear ya, however, you won't get me to say anything bad about Les Miles. I love the dude. I played ball, and I would've loved to have played for him. He may be quirky, but he can recruit and develop players with the best of them.

First of all, hate to burst your bubble there champ, but "Saturday Down South" is like a poor-man's Bleacher Report (before it was bought by Turner.)

Secondly, you seem to think that there is some kind of similarity between lining up in the i-Formation and trying to pound it up the middle into a 9-man box compared to Urban Meyer's spread option scheme.

Cam's offense didn't look the same as it did in 2013 because we no longer had 2-NFL WRs, and NFL RB, and an NFL QB lining up every play. Besides the ONE game against aTm, the offense did not involve the QB in designed run plays much at all. Meyer's system revolves around the spread-option. His QBs thrive because he spreads out the defense and then utilizes the zone-read and power runs (by both the RB and QB) to open up the passing game. The only thing similar about the LSU offense this season and Meyer's offense is that they are both run first, to set up the pass.

Are you really going to try and tell me that if we had someone like Tebow, Manziel, or Pat White line up under center this season, that we would have been that much more successful on offense? If you really believe this then you sir, have many more issues to worry about.

Nice article; I like the idea of Miller at LSU. What is the likelihood that he would transfer? Is this just internet rumors or is there something else being reported to make you believe Miller might transfer?

Eh, I don't do the fan stuff -- so I'm not going to overlook the amount of talent coming from Baton Rouge during his tenure. He's an O-line guy and the Tigers excel at the position he played. I can't stand when a team struggles at the position the head coach played (if he played).

Saban's DB's are the truth; Miles' run game is top-notch. No disputing that...

Hey, JRod -- I appreciate the props on the article. I've never heard Miller connected to LSU -- this was me surveying the landscape and going from there. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to get the ball rolling; I honestly think it would be a huge success...

I understand the love for Harris, as it's like this at every school with a the young backup, but don't waste prime years waiting on QB development if you have the chance to upgrade the position...Why no mention of LSU recruiting Chad Kelly, formerly of Clemson?
