Texas may have a better offense, but their defense isn't better. GT is ranked 44 in Passing Defense while Texas is ranked 60. So, it appears that JJ was playing against a tougher pass defense than Pryor. Also, the reason Texas' run defense is ranked second is because they haven't played anyone that runs the ball. Out of 120 teams, Texas had the least number of rushes attempted on them. There were only 317 rush attempts against Texas. The average of all 120 teams is 457 attempts.

One little problem with all these stats ... the opponents.

Oklahoma, Missouri, Okla St, Texas Tech, Kansas. I'm willing to bet any team playing against these QBs will give up some passing yards.

I'll leave it at this.

Terrelle Pryor is Vince Young. Do any of you have a comparison as to who Jordan Jefferson compares to? I'd like to hear this. Because Pryor is a VERY raw product right now, and one could argue that Jefferson is closer to his ceiling in terms of potential. Pryor, on the other hand, has a long way to go. Does that sound like a certain #10 that played at Texas to you? Mark my words, Pryor will have OSU in a National Title game in 2 years. Possibly against JJ and the Tigers, who knows?

Could very well happen.
They will still get their asses kicked, however.

Pryor's recruitment put a bad taste in my mouth about the kid. He's a great talent, but it seems to be about him and not the team.

I think Pryor ultimately has more talent, but I'd rather have JJ's lesser talent and mentality.

I think it's pretty close. Pryor has more physical tools IMO but JJ has more intangibles from what little I've seen so far and JJ was way underrated as a HS recruit and I'm glad we got him.

JJ + Shep (on field at the same time) >>>>>>>> Anything ever seen in modern era of college football.

It's a great time to be an LSU fan. We have soooo much to look forward to.

Boeckman (sp?) looked really good last night. Pryor was very soso. Without Boeckman, they don't put but 3 points on the board.

I give Pryor the nod as a runner - he appears faster and more elusive - but JJ is plenty mobile himself. I give JJ a pretty significant advantage right now in passing and I am not just going off the bowl games. Jefferson's mechanics could be improved but he seems to be much more accurate and may also have the stronger arm.

I think we bought an undervalued stock when we signed the man from Destrehan.

True That... don't forget a possible Reuben Randle on that same field

Donovan McNabb

I don't really remember him from college days and we've only seen JJ in 2 1/2 games but the way DM plays in Philly reminds me of JJ. Especially earlier in his career before the knee surgeries. He's got good enough wheels to make plays on his feet and be a legit dual threat, a strong accurate arm, good leadership skills, loves campbell chunky soup....

i would much rather a good passer that can run than a good runner that can sort of pass.

now has JJ proven himself? not at all

but TP has not impressed me all that much either.

Was closer to a young Randall Cunningham while in college. But, I do like the comparison of Jefferson to a present day McNabb. Only thing is, is that McNabb didn't sniff a Super Bowl without a legit wideout as of yet. Like I've said, I like Jefferson, he's got a ton of polish on him for being a freshman, but I LOVE the player Pryor can become on the college level. Jefferson can be good, Pryor can be GREAT.

However, as for how their games may translate to the pro level, the advantage as of today goes to Jordan. Pryor is just too...loosy goosy with the football.

Not close. Donavan McNabb was as quick reacting as any quarterback that I have ever seen. He has lost some of his quickness but his arm motion is much quicker and more efficient than most quarterbacks. He may not have had the speed of Vick or Young but you couldn't hem McNabb in a phone booth. I loved watching him play.

watching the fiesta bowl made me realize how much damage shep will be able to do with his legs. pryor is deceptively fast, but shep looks much more explosive and elusive in the open field
