Kole Taylor has long been the weak link on the field. He was not very good last year especially blocking and got pulled for the UF game.

What game film of Nuss has you so certain this is true???
You don't know that, just like I don't.

Thanks for the solid analysis!

The stuff with the TEs is exactly what I was worried about with Denbrock - he relies on them too much even when we just don’t have the guys.
Hopefully he realizes going forward that we just can’t run 2TE except in short yardage. And those 2 should be Mashburn and M. Taylor. Kole doesn’t need to play.
The special teams were just inexcusable though. So bad that I don’t think Polian should be retained and Kelly should be on the hot seat. Having two short kicks blocked from the same spot is bad for high school; it’s grounds to tear up a $100M contract in the SEC.

So far, Kelly and staff graded out with a big fat F.
The new staff looks like the last game of 2021.
No excuses. Just put on a team that doesn’t look like a circus.

Sure, I'll double down.
So, not having the playbook installed and looking lost as frick all night is reason to be excited? Getting torched on the triple reverse playground special for a TD?
Did we watch a different game?
I'm glad to see Georgia and Alabama looked lost and out of position all game when they played. It's nice to know that all the other SEC West teams looked as bad or worse than LSU. Good to see that our competition had players half-assing it on the field, and others constantly out of position. Because like it or not, we are worse than: Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Mississippi State; without mentioning getting our skulls dragged in by Alabama.
Did you people see our Defensive Backs not look for the ball one time, I repeat, one time during the game? Two defensive pass interference calls in the end zone. Just tackle the guy. It is better than some half-assed penalty after the fact.
Blitzing their quarterback with linebackers or safetys running completely around the line of scrimmage and being 4 second too late? Our stunts and blitzes were sloppy and ineffective. Offensive linemen letting their D-Line gap responsibility run unopposed to our QB? Late hit ejections? This team is incredibly undisciplined and at some point, it can't be Orgeron's fault.
Some people need to rewatch the game and realize this year is going to be a long, hard row to hoe. SEC play isn't going to be pretty for us this year. The SEC had one loss in Week 1 and it was LSU.

And now we have revisionists claiming Napier inherited a better situation than Kelly, when Florida was even worse than us last year. We would have blown them out if not for Ward trying to pick the Hail Mary.
Neither he nor Aranda would have put such an embarrassment in the field. I never thought I’d miss Joe Alleva…

Anyway, thanks to OP for a great breakdown. I haven’t been able to do rewatch threads like this is years so I always appreciate when someone does

Going to be long season but looking forward to seeing this team develop and what we look like with a game under our belt

Uh, did Florida lose half their scholarship players from last year?

The basic fact that FSU has had a stable system in place on both offense and defense and they had a lot of veteran players who had been in that system
Their o-line is patchwork that is as bad or worse than ours…no excuse our line having as bad of a night as it did. Our DL had ZERO sacks. You read that right.

Tremendous assessment FSU just had a little more experience and they're really not that great a team. We had everything go wrong and still could have won that game.
Yes, Thank You

They fired their coach. Keeping players is part of the transition and we botched it.
Yes O coasted the last 2 years but blaming him for last night is absurd. That was all Kelly and his BBQ buddies Polian and Denbrock.

I did no such thing.
I was responding to your completely out of the blue comment that it is somehow “revisionist” to say that Kelly inherited a worse situation than what Napier did at UF.

Wasnt referring to you in particular then. But it’s a widely-held view on here.

TD pass given up on a trick play where if the CB turns around, knocks the ball down at the very least.

At least a tough play - the sheer panic when you realize you’ve been had on a trick play is hard to replicate or overcome.
Blocking down on an extra point… that’s actual junior high stuff.
ETA: I’d rather the DB commit to just tackling the guy and at least making them score in short-yardage.
