Really? I disagree. I noticed Jefferson actually threw the ball better, he put it in the right spot almost every time. He had passes dropped, but also threw into coverage often.... something he will need to work on. Also, I was very happy to see we are throwing passes in the flats again. This was missing the past few seasons.

You don't know this. I find it hard to believe the head coach is not involved with the defense at all.

there are stories that his offensive line coach(s) have had to come in behind him after he's just finished coaching someone and tell them to disregard whatever he just told them.

I find that very hard to believe. No assistant coach would undermine the head coach like that.

Am I naive to think that Les can end up on the hot seat again

Of course he can. If the offense does not improve (which is hard to imagine, it can't get worse) and the breaks don't go our way. Les could end up on the hot seat.

Didn't think we would show our entire offense in the spring, did you?

the coaching staff has spent 3+ years trying to create a offensive scheme that fits JJ strengths.
period!!
It is obvious that the staff is going with JJ. Which is fine that is their right to decide.
with that being said, it would be idiotic for the staff to give JJ new material to learn when he seems to be just catching on to things within the scheme that he does well.

I don't understand all the chicken littles that run around after the spring game crying how the sky is falling because of x, y, and z.

Here's my take:

First, Krags has been on campus and involved with the program for how long? A few months. It's going to take a little time to undo those bad habits/skills taught by Crowton. Even a miracle worker couldn't come in and make changes over night.

Secondly, you have to take the spring game for what it is: a glorified practice. I am actually glad the offense didn't look stellar and JJ wasn't completing pass after pass for massive yards gained b/c that would be a total indictment of our D.

In my opinion all LSU needs out of a QB with our great D is a game manager...not a world beater. The defense and secondary looked solid in the spring game; I'll take that any day to a QB gobbling up yardage.

Huh? All I'm saying is when the offense is bad...and it don't look good...Who are gona fire?! GC! Blah blah on all that other bull. When you are the OC and the playcalling sucks and numbers are not there then GTFO. I simply said the SG doesnt measure SK's potential or abilities they ain't showing much for Oregon to look at..Period

Serious question that somewhat pertains to this thread:

Was there an option to the short side during the spring game?

By far the most annoying shite brought up on this board is the short side option. If the option is one of your plays, which it obviously is for LSU, then you have to run it to the short side at times. For Christ's sake, no team runs a play to only the wide side of the field. If Miles and Co. run options to the wide side every time and teams begin to pick up the tendency, all of you will be on here bitching about how we are so predictable and we run the option to the wide side all the time!

it's because you always run the option to the wide side on the X-box and Playstation....and that's what these guys know.

Problem is JJ has consistently played like shite over 3 years, including last Spring. And then he looked like shite last Saturday. JJ is consistently bad in the passing game. Nothing anyone saw last Saturday should lead to a different result this fall.
The socket looks like it is not even present for the light bulb to go off. Maybe something happens between now and the fall however, anybody that EXPECTS different results from JJ may be setting themselves up for disappointment.
Of course, everyone hopes it was all Crowton's fault. The guy that is gone is always a great scapgoat.

For the sake of clarity, sanity, and LSU football, I am going to condense my previous comment here and put the focus on why, IMO, there is angst among the Tiger faithful after this most recent Spring Game...
quote:

"We have this Senior pair of QBs who don't show much in the way of having been coached well enough or learned enough to play at the SEC level they should be playing at. Now these guys are not physical wrecks or deficient in general ability. And I am not asking them to be All-SEC or All-American Heisman candidates. But given their level of ability, by now I would have expected to see something consistent in their play, improvement, positive growth on their parts - more than an incremental show, a random series, more than an occasional game among games."
And let me say again, that expectation is not unreasonable.
