I still think LSU should evaluate leaving the SEC and joining the Big 12 or ACC. Do a business case analysis. There are people who do this for a living. It's too easy to say, "the money is too good, blah blah, LSU can't leave the SEC." It may very well be that the "money is too good" and LSU would be foolish to leave the conference. But I would at least study it and make it known to those assholes in Birmingham that you're studying it. And who knows, maybe the financial impact isn't what people assume it would be. Don't know until you study it.

Yes, the refs screwed LSU royally ... it was obvious and intentional. Part of it was that they are old dicks and were tired and wanted to go home. Reminded me of when my kid played little league and the ump's strike zone got a mile wide at 10 pm in the late innings. frick those old fricks. With no due respect.

LSU however had the opportunity, several in fact, to win the game -- throw a pass and get one more first down. Game over. Stop them on 4th and 18. Stop them on last play of regulation. Stop them on any number of TD passes and 2 pt. conversions.

I am by no means an Orgeron fan. I am relieved that he exhibits a basic level of competency (in other words, can win more than 3 games a season like he did at Old Miss.) Yes, I know, some of you would rather he flame out so they can fire him. You fear that he'll continue to lead the program in mediocrity where 9-win seasons will be the norm.

I get that. But, I honestly don't believe, as some post on here, that the program is in a downward spiral, etc. ... I can see LSU having a great season, then an average season, etc., in other words, up and down. Nothing says that there will be a downward trend that does not also trend up.

Is he good enough to beat Saban? Probably not. Who is?

I can't help but want the team to succeed and he's the coach, so, I want him to succeed. I want to win the bowl game and finish 10-3, and sign a great class. I really hope he replaces Ensminger, b/c that is a needed program move. Offensive philosophy has been stagnant and needs new blood, has needed it for several years.

All is not lost, I guess I am an eternal optimist. I really hope a NY6 bowl is still the destination.

With Saban at Alabama and what Fisher will be doing at A&M and Mullen at Florida, I could easily see LSU getting left behind over the next 2-5 years.

LSU will maintain 7 wins per season but I can see Orgeron getting passed on by these three mentioned universities in recruiting.

After calm reflection you think your school should leave the best cf conference for the big 12-2-2+2 or acc???? You gonna just move over there and roll everybody on your way to title after title? You need some more calm reflection.

Meh. "What Fisher is doing." They finished 8-4. They're not going to a NY6 bowl, LSU probably is. They beat LSU in 7 OTs by a you know what's hair, and with a lot of help. Yes, they won. Scoreboard. Fine. Does that mean that A&M will now from henceforth win more games than LSU, etc.? No, it doesn't.

I will be totally honest in stating that if I had been in charge, I would've hired Fisher in either one of the two Alleva-botched coaching "searches"/hires. And still, in my heart of hearts, would prefer him to Orgeron. Doesn't mean however that just b/c A&M won a game in 7 OTs, and yes, with a lot of help, means that they're headed in the right direction, LSU isn't. "Two ships passing in the night" as one poster put it. Give me a break. Fisher isn't Saban, and A&M isn't Alabama.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I understand this. I said study a move. I don't accept statements without proof. No doubt the SEC has a lucrative TV deal. Since LSU is a charter member of this conference I understand what it means to be in this conference.

Do you want to be a big fish in a little pond, or a little fish in a big pond? As long a Satin is in the SEC everyone else is a little fish.

"Don't wish things were easier. Wish you were better."

That's a good saying to live by.

I find it interesting that rather than insisting that LSU do everything in their power to be better as a football team, you think the answer to our problems is to move conferences so that we'd seemingly have an easier path to the playoffs.

dabo, malzahn, freeze, stoops, CUM, should i continue?

if that is your excuse for not hiring a coach with a proven style that can beat saban its quite cowardly

Aggie,,, if you guys do ever progress to the point you are relevant enough for Birmingham to think you are a threat to their empire you will understand what Jeff is saying! It has very little or nothing to do with A&M and last night!!!
The fact that every close call for years no matter who we playing is our issue. I have many Aggie friends and where we are now is exactly where you guys were with Texas for many years. I agree with Jeff, what does it hurt to look!

What you find interesting doesn't interest me. The reason to move is not fear of competition, but wanting a level playing field. Most impartial observers of last night's game noted the officiating issues. No, it doesn't happen to every team, yes, it was intentional. Why should LSU continue to tolerate this treatment? Money? Maybe so. Maybe it's too good and for financial reasons it would be foolish to leave the SEC. But at least study a move.

Do you have proof that there was malicious intent to cheat LSU?

Only 2 of those coaches beat Saban and won national championships - but only had to beat him once and that was in the playoffs.

The others in the conference (since his first couple of seasons at Bama) did no better than LSU this season all things considered.

Invalid point.

This is getting out of hand. Get a 1st down in regulation, we win. Don’t call 3 straight runs from the 3 yard line in OT after they already kicked a FG, we win

Two questions for you.

Don't you think that is what we have been vocalizing since 1/9/12?

Are you niave enough to believe the administration has been earnestly attempting to achieve this, given their decisions?
