Tommy Casanova was the best player to wear the purple and gold and it's not even close. Total BMF and it did not matter if he was on offense or defense. He's one of the only ones I can think of that could be pulled straight out of his era and still kick arse all over the field in 2016. Bert Jones is second. Jones could come straight out of his era and put up insane numbers in this era. Hell Bert is an old man and can still sling a football better than the current quarterbacks we have in here today.

quote:Some of you clowns are so damn retarded it isn't funny the way you put down a great player. A freak player with his combination of size, speed, and power is a rare thing nowadays. Leonard Fournette was quite simply the best RB ever at LSU. He would have easily ran for another 2,000 yards this season if he was completely healthy. And dude would have won numerous awards if he had gone to Alabama (like he almost did) including the Heisman instead of LSU. But he chose to stay home because he wanted to be loyal to LSU and Les Miles. He could have sat out the whole season this year(and maybe he should have), shut it down after a game or two with that bad leg that never recovered, instead he wanted to play for the team and fans, and try and win a championship for LSU.

Mile's basically ruined any chances that Fournette had at getting a Heisman by how he used him. Like a workhorse with no imagination whatsoever on offense. Every team LSU faced simply loaded the box especially Alabama because they knew what old jughead Miles was gonna do. My hat is off to Leonard Fournette, you are a true tiger and I'm grateful you played at LSU. Get healthy and I wish you the best in the NFL. Thankyou, for being an LSU tiger!

No, I'm laughing at the idiots that think "he could have" or "would have" count for him being the greatest LSU football player. This isn't who had the most potential it's who was the best. He was not for a long enough period of time.

I see, my apologies then.

You mean how he went away frok his usual rb by committee and show cased him? Our scheme was built around the rb. Its like you people base our entire scheme around what it does against bama.
The last 2 years under miles we ran for over 200 yards against florida. We used an olineman as our te and put a beast fb in front LF.

Lets not act like we didnt build our oline , te, and fb position based on running the fb. Our scheme was one of the easiest schemes for a rb to shine.

People that think he couldnt just dont understand how big and fast he was. They think he ran 15 second 100 and 4.78 40.

Florida isn't Alabama my man. Sure they keep good defenses, but nowhere near Bama's, and in that last game against Florida under Miles, he specifically made it a priority to punish them running wise because of what they did the previous season against him.
but my comment was more about how he used LF in his simple vanilla predominantly run based offense that he ran. You just can't line up a RB like that and run him to death(showcase him as you claim - lol), wear him down even with the help he had with all the depth they had, punishing run after punishing run. At least provide a lil offensive imagination, but of course he provided none. But I'm sure you'll argue about this, you just can't help it.
