Interestin tidbits:
"One man was knocked unconscious and another man suffered three fractured vertebrae.... the man who was knocked unconscious and suffered contusions to his head, nose and hands is a Marine."
So Andrew was unconscious at some point; that is the hook to attempt to get this to 2nd degree.
No third party witnesses yet?

I was shocked by that too. I figured they at least got some info from third party witnesses once they arrived on scene.

this shite will never get resolved.

That's the part I don't understand.
Part of me thinks people would jump at the chance to name and shame a high-profile football player, and part of me thinks the opposite.
The three fractured vertebrae is kind of hard to explain away though.

How much of the testimony will stand-in court is the question? If they were all drinking or drunk, I doubt any of it will stand.
Posted on 8/24/11 at 7:58 am to Prominentwon
who determined he was unconscious? paramedics or a bystander?

No one should be shocked by this. If it were March, yeah a third party witness would've materialized, but to expect a third party witness to come forward 10 days before the start of the season, one of the biggest games of the year, and deep in the heart of tiger country all I can say is....
Don't hold your breath.

all of it will stand. Credibility is a question for the jury.

that's IF they were fractured as a result of the fight.
This cat has been in a burglary, he's a marine, and been kicked out of High school. I'd like to see his prior meds to clarify if this is a traumatic injury over something from his colorful past.

It's time for BRPD to either shite or get off the pot. If you have 2 parties giving 2 different stories with no 3rd party witness, it's time to pull the plug on the investigation. Let the other pieces of shite that got injured take the football players to court to try to cover medical bills. Good luck on getting your money too.
Moral of this whole story: don't honk your horn and yell at the LSU football team, especially when there's 50 of them and 2 of your group and you are a lot smaller and weaker than them.

the MRI taken on Friday would have told the doctors if it was a new, or chronic injury from before.
Sorry, the doctors would have expressed as much in the reports given to the police.

geeees.
looks like we have different expectations of how players the represent LSU should conduct themselves in public.

They can't figure this out and we wonder why they can't at least slow down the murder rate in the city. They look like a bunch of bumbling fools.

broken bones get you second degree battery. Police wait in the ER for the xrays sometimes to find out if they're fractures or not.

Gotta prove the fracture was a result of the fight first, he could have got them from something else.

x-ray's determine fractures of the bone. MRI's are for tissue/disc.
dr's go by history. if the patient says they didn't have any fractures prior, then their opinion is based on what the patient says. however, when presented a different history, that same dr's testimony generally changes.

And you believe that this individual lied to the doctors...lied to police and is forging a fake report?
BTW Lowrey, the guy with the history, DOES NOT HAVE THE FRACTURED VERTEBRAE.
I mean really, you think the police, hospital, alleged victim, etc...are all in on some "conspiracy"?
You people have jumped the shark.
