Will provide easier movement of thugs from both cities to infiltrate smaller towns, etc. How about take 2% of the annual pay from our beloved politicians and take a royalt fee from the Pelicans and Saints tickets?
Why just Baton Rouge based teams? How about Tulane (oh, that's right that would be all 350 screaming fans) and UNO?

I like infrastructure but lets be real, it would ultimately just be another place for crime to occur

Sat a.m. gameday train ride from Nola to BR would be lit

It died because just like always new orleans wants the benefit without paying the tax. Saints/Pels millionaire should be funding this

Should make the saints do this. Taxpayers have been paying to keep them here for years anyway
Think you’d be in for a ride awakening if they left for San Antonio …

Of course there will have to be NOLA/BR Rail Commission with political appointees that would have the public's best interest as their only reason to serve on said commission.

This train sounds like the kind of think you take once just for the fun of it then never again. It'll turn to trash in no time at all once nobody rides it anymore

add about $100 to every landowner in a tax subsidy. Commuter trains are a drag on money. If 5-7% of the population does not ride everyday you are losing money and taxes have to prop it up. Louisiana will be lucky if they get 2% ridership.25 would be about 20,000-30,000 out of the populations between NOLA and Baton Rouge. And you have no park and ride locations yet.

Dude thought out the box to try and get something done that he believed had merit or benefit for citizens. It didn’t make it out of committee, but, apparently has folks talking about non-traditional ways to generate funds for infrastructure outside of tolls with 30 year sunsets.

This is why you will sit in traffic the rest of your life, and your children will sit in traffic their whole lives etc. You have to trust government and pay taxes for good things like public transportation, thats just the way it works. It's sad that Louisiana voters never want to pay for public works and everyone suffers.
But hey I live in Houston where we regularly vote for things like light rail. Try it the next time youre here its awesome, you can park next to Hermann park, take the rail to the game and be back nice and easy.

LOL
And again, our politicians need to focus any and all dollars on building a new bridge for the BR area

Thugs lurking around train stations would love this.

What total nonsense there is more than enough money to make it work already. Why would support even an extra cent in taxes is beyond me

I dunno man. Infrastructure costs are crazy. Let’s just do this thing and see how it goes. There’s tons more waste in government than something solid like a railroad.
$1/game isn’t oppressive.
