And LSU was always fight outrageous lines in 07.......17.5 pts against an SEC opponent........come on.........8 against Florida with Tebow..........come on..........Auburn 10.5 come on...........just because you don't cover a line doesn't make you a bad football team.

Florida is 37-24-2 ATS under sixth-year head coach Meyer. They are 70-53-2 in the last ten years.

The Broncos went 9-4 against the college football odds in 2009. They were 4-2 when favored at home and 4-2 as the favorite on the road. They went 1-0 in a neutral situation. Boise State had a 5-3 record ATS when playing WAC opponents, and went 4-1 in on-conference matchups.
The Broncos are 30-18 ATS under fifth year head coach Chris Peterson and 75-44-2 in the last ten years.

I wouldn't put a dime on this game either way.

I'm not gonna run from a guy who doesn't realize that 25-35 ats isn't what counts.
I do realize. It's an opportunity. This thread is about gambling. Not SU records.

what counts is your record SU, how many SEC titles you have, and how many NC you have.
Thats what counts.
I agree, but there's also another side of it as well. The financial side.
quote:
.what was his record ats at LSU? You'd probably be shocked.
From what I recall, he was very conservative and his ATS reflected it as a favorite. And again, there was an opportunity there as well.

I don't think that's what you were arguing.
Essentially, he owned you.
But, I do think you're right about this one, but maybe not for the right reasons, IDK.
How do you go off quoting line stats, then come back and say the lines were wrong?

So if LSU was
That means Saban won 5 more games ATS spread........

He decided to shift the focus to another topic, even though that was not the point of this thread, and hasn't been for the last 4 pages.

Did you know that 70 % of numbers quoted are wrong?

I didnt' say the were wrong.....they were inflated........I don't know ONE person who took any bet with LSU giving 10 pts in an SEC game. That was my point......
And I didn't get owned........so Les Miles is 25-25 ATS.....I don't play many games with LSU to begin with....
Usually it's just games like Miami or ND or OSU a few years ago when you are like WTF.......otherwise I don't like having my money in play with a team I'm passionate about.

I'll admit I made that number up...........like I said before........
My MAIN point still sticks buddy.......
But hey run with it........I made it up............ahhhhhhhhhhhh I don't know what I'm talking about............:omg:

No, you said this:

You also are proving to be a pretty poor historian and statistician
quote:
because in 2005 2006 and 2007 LSU was over 70% ATS as the favorite. The slip has only occured in 08 and 09.

And I didn't get owned........so Les Miles is 25-25 ATS
The Tigers went 3-4-1 ATS against other teams from the SEC, and 2-3 in non-conference play. They are 25-35-4 under sixth-year head coach Les Miles.

You want me to apologize too? Should I do it before or after I put on my NFL pickem champ Tshirt?

I'll keep an eye on your picks. I'll be posting my plays in the MSB.

How many times you gonna post it?
I'll make sure to post a thread to prove your brilliance Sunday or Monday. Trust me.

Well, if betting on a team your passionate about, just bet against them.
You win either way.
Just don't get caught up risking more than what your entertainment budget can handle. Some guys hunt, fish, travel, etc., and some guys sweat sporting events. To each his own.
I've been around the gambling scene for a long time. You can't win in sports betting. The more you bet, the more you have to win.
A couple of books I know are both familiar with a bettor who has a system that works very good for him. The opportunity to bet it does not come up often, but when it does, it's very reliable.
It involves reading stats ATS, and requires a volume of recent stats accumulated over the course of that season. The opportunity to bet it only comes up when a team is the exact opposite against the spread as its opponent, and is at home, and must be the team with the lesser value of wins ATS.
Maybe give that a shot later in the year.
Works better in the pros.
Other than that, do something more constructive with your hard earned cash. And, if you don't work hard, then keep giving it to Mikey, Jerry, or Phil, or Shawn, etc.

Please do. I hope I am wrong. I really do. I am as big of a Tigers fan as the next person, but in terms of opportunity and value, I think the Tar Heels are the play.
