One key observation by the media attending practice on Wednesday was this. LSU's offense looked to be out-pacing the defense today; the offensive line continues to surprise in terms of blocking.

This is a game changer IMO. LSU's defense is widely considered the strength of this LSU team, it's the deepest, it's the strongest, and LSU's Dline is considered to have multiple 1st round draft picks among them.

No.1 takeaway? If LSU's offense can out-pace, outshine, and can block this LSU defense, it can also do so against any SEC team on their schedule. We Tiger fans have us a legitimate contender for the SEC, better update those preseason forecasts.

Well, I like the optimism for sure

I am trying to temper my expectations because we just had 2 bad seasons back to back

and played a bowl game with 39 scholarship players. I've never seen a program gutted like that before.

so, we're rebuilding, not competing for championships.

that said, we might end up being a top 15 team with great QB play

Lower your expectations baw. Then if you are actually right, you’ll be very happy. High expectations with little true evidence to support leads to disappointment most of the time.

That said, we might also end up being a top 5 team in the playoffs.

Not sure where you're getting your take on the defense.

D-line should be stout, but we have major questions for DBs and there is little to no depth at LB.

If the O-line comes together then we might win a game or two by outscoring the opponent.

We have a competent coach who already think this his most talented team ever. Enjoy the ride is all I can say.

Hope springs eternal. Hearsay of scrimmages will not be enough to change most peoples prognostications.

I'm not certain whether I should be happy about the O-line or concerned about the D-line.

I suspect I'll wait till a game is played to judge for myself.

For me it has been how healthy this camp has been from an injury standpoint.

Kudos to Coach Flint and his staff. This has been the healthiest fall I can recall.

There’s a lot of talent in one spot, but plenty of questions elsewhere. Then you also have to factor in running a very different defensive system under House with a lot of new guys plugging holes. This isn’t as simple as you want it to be. We’ll know where we are after 2 or 3 games.

One thing about having more media at practices is you realize how they don’t really know what they are looking at. I’ve heard so many different reports.

One person says the o line looks great then another says that our d line is dominant. One person will say Noah Cain is going to have a breakout year then somebody will say how the offensive line is really struggling with run blocking. One person will say that our defense is going to be fantastic, but our offense is dominating scrimmages.

All of these people are watching the same practices but giving different reports.

Perhaps moving a healthy Wire into the RT spot and Bradford to his natural position at guard has really unlocked the first string O-line's potential.

Yes.
And also my concern for this season is our depth.

I still think we will surprise a lot of people and teams!

Really? Media said they have had a huge problem run blocking?

Excellent point! Kelly appears determined to have the best LSU Oline he can have starting game 1.
