I began thinking the other day that the justification for scheduling LSU and UGA this year was to have the "Mettenberger goes back to Georgia" headline.

I'm not saying that it's a good enough reason to pull UGA off of Bama's schedule (as an SEC championship rematch in Athens is just as enticing), but it is another way to look at the scheduling decision.

You can't possibly be serious. If you are, this is the Rantard post of the day.

Nah, more like "Bama goes back to (Atlanta) Georgia" headline.

Now if Charlie Daniels could provide the music we might have something.

it has everything to do with trying to put the brakes on LSU from making it to the SEC championship game

Well, it doesn't do Georgia any favors, for sure.

What a ridiculous early season schedule for them. Clemson on the road, South Carolina on the road (I think), and then LSU comes calling.

FL and A&M both have to travel to LSU, so it couldn't be any more convenient for Alabama. Everybody else's schedule pretty much maximizes the difficulty factor.

Oh, and I think GA and FL might even play each other, too.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the scheduling of LSU and Georgia.
