The guy played professionally into his 40s and is one of the best players in the Big 3 league.

His shot is still a thing of beauty.

Except for his grey hair, he looks like he's in his 20s.

That is absurd and I think he is awesome.

It’s not absurd at all. He’s a grown man still playing and in great shape. There isn’t a player in college right now that could hold him below 30.

No. No he wouldn’t.

That’s like Georgia fans saying Herschel Walker would be the best player in CFB because he’s in shape

Dude was a fricking baller.

So glad he’s getting honored with the jersey retirement. It was overdue.

You're wrong. I loved watching that guy play at LSU when I was 9-10 years old. He was incredible. But to think he could play full court ball competitively with highly skilled 18-20 year olds is just dumb.

He could score 30 a game against the dudes today by doing a James Harden and playing no defense and shooting threes.

Vince Carter is in the NBA right now and he's only 6 years younger.

Ok?

Your logic is retarded.

Michael tucking Jordan fell off in his 40s and your claiming that Abdul-Raif would be the best basketball player in a league full of 20 year olds when he’s nearly 50.

If you truly believe this shite then fine but you also shouldn’t leave your home without a helmet moving forward

This is next level delusion. It’s okay to admire someone without thinking of them as some God.

20ppg at the age of 39 over an entire season is falling off? Only 1 other player 39 years old averaged 20ppg in NBA history (Karl Malone).

He looked good in the the big 3 last season. I know it’s a half court league but I bet he could give you 12-15ppg in college.

Yes he’s an incredible player/athlete. I think if he were starting out in today’s league hedve had a great NBA career.

Definitely played in the wrong era, and he had two things working against him:

1. His Tourette's was not under control at the time and the medication he was taking caused him to gain weight and get sluggish.

2. He caused himself bad PR with the flag/national anthem issue. I'm not going to say who was right or wrong, but it got out of control and he was basically blackballed from the NBA. It probably could've been handled differently.
