Although it has fizzled out and won't likely happen in the near future, I'm curious what your thoughts on it are. Would we be a welcome addition to SEC fan?

I'd be down for that but one thing would have to happen first.

The SEC West already has two douchbag fanbases in Arky and Ole Pissy. One of them would have to go to be replaced by your douchebag fanbase

just kidding.....well not really

proximity wise, i think it would suck for your volleyball team to have to travel to south carolina for a conference match.

doesn't seem economically feesible.

Yes. Of course most Tiger fans don't have to travel too far to get to CS and vice versa. Not sure how fans in USCe,UGA or UF would take it.

It makes good sense to me. We already eat your lunch in recruiting.

Yes, I think A&M would be a welcome addition to the SEC. Now make it happen.

A&M is already in the same conference as Colorado and Iowa State, couldn't be much worse than that.

Edit: the traveling I mean, I think A&M would be a great addition to the SEC

Yea, most of the SEC fans and especially LSU fans wanted A & M in the SEC. They probably still would rank them as the #1 candidate. It would take a few years for them to adjust to the depth necessary for the long SEC season like it did with Arkansas, but they would fit in well. Good history & great fan base. The SEC is as close to a super conference as their has ever been in NCAAF. If they had 4 more strong programs like A & M, they would be even more dominant.

The University of Texas will not let yall join, so it's almost a moot point. We'd love to have yall though.

More than welcome. A lot of us were bummed when it didn't happen.

In my mind, it's something that should have happened a long time ago. I recall that LSU was prepared to sponsor TAMU for SEC membership when the SWC broke up.

You guys would fit here like you never fit anywhere else.

Just don't bring Texass with you.

Come aboard. Would make for a natural and healthy rivalry for LSU, which would be good for both schools, the SEC and college football. Texas deserves every shaft that can be delivered their way and A&M SHOULD NOT be treated as their stepchild.

Mike Slive was in College Station and the SEC was prepared to invite the Aggies into the SEC until Texas decided to stay with the Big XII which backdoored the Aggies.

The TX legislature won't let us split up. It became very political. Frank the tank had a good article on it.
