I'd welcome aTm to the SEC. Always competitive and never green.

It would have been great if the Ags would have joined the SEC. It would have made Houston more of an SEC place and helped LSU even more in recruiting. Texas A&M would have been a tremendous addition to the SEC but I think that the Ags never had any intention to join the SEC.... the whole discussion was more a bargaining chip for the Ags to improve their pie slice in the Big 12.

meh ... it helped having offers from other conferences, but Aggies legitimately like the SEC. Our University's President got along very well with Mike Slive. I don't think this story line is finished yet.

I think if we took Texas and Texas A&M it would work.

I'm pretty sure most LSU fans here were in favor of it at the time.

Although it has fizzled out and won't likely happen in the near future, I'm curious what your thoughts on it are. Would we be a welcome addition to SEC fan?

i would love to have Texas A&M in the SEC. Adding A&M and FSU would be good.

Georgia Tech would be a good choice too (old school SEC team)

Can we make a trade, A&M for Arkansas. I have never accepted the hogs as part of the SEC. A&M is a natural rivalry for LSU, unlike the fake rivalry we have with Arkansas.

Good luck trying to collect the 400K we owe from getting out of our 10 year series.

FSU would be good

FSU had their opportunity but Bobby Bowden passed on the SEC in favor of the ACC. Suppose Bobby figured playing Duke, Wake Forest, and Maryland was favorable to playing Alabama, LSU and Tennessee every year.

Tx will never be part of a conference that isn't a Tx centric league. Tx wants no part of a fair and equitable conference.

The Bobster is smart in that way. Like the other FBS programs in Louisiana and Texas that get "left-over" recuits after LSU and the Horns get first pick, all the Florida teams--including FSU--get the UF Gator left-over recruits.

After Camgate, i bet aTm is really kicking themselves!

They just realized they missed an opportunity to go to a conference where the commish supports pay for play!

As an old man we played T-A&M the first game every year when they were still in the SWC. Had some great games. I enjoyed the series as it became a rivalry game every year.

UT alum probably are not just concerned about loosing the long standing rivalry, but also that A&M would then have a much better hand in the recruiting wars in Texas.

Mack Brown goes into that 5* recruits home and says come to UT and play in places like Waco and Norman OK, etc and Sherman goes into that same recruits home and says come to A&M and play teams like Florida, Alabama, Georgia and LSU...

this....

it would also hurt LSU's recruiting in TX...instead of going to LSU from UT they would go to TAMU from UT...

Id trade you guys for Arkansas, no matter how shi**y they are every year, they seem to scare or beat us, enough of that, come on! You guys need to see a real fanbase anyway!

I like the idea of differentiating ourselves from t.u. and I think it would ultimately help us in recruiting. On a micro level you're dealing with 18 year olds and there's just no telling how they're going to base their decisions.
