Fortunately now u guys are top 10. Kinda one-sided in the 90's.

LSU beat the Aggies 7 out of 9 games played in the 1940's. Who cares about the '40's or '90's. Ancient history.

Checkout the way these Aggies spend their spring break. Don't mess with Texas

The intensity of all those opening season games was unreal at times. After beating each others brains out and losing quality players for weeks, both teams would struggle to remain competitive. I think it did more harm than good, so early in the season.

So you want your team to get their asses beat to begin and end the regular season? Great idea.

If you don't want it as the first game it's because you are too young to know what a great series LSU - A&M used to be.

NO thanks. I never want to spend another early September day of hell at Kyle Field. That place was like Africa hot.

Texas is not going to resume the series with A&M so long as DeLoss Dodds is AD. The SEC has to plan for a future without that series, or Missouri-Kansas, and isn't going to be held hostage by a Big XII school.

Agree to disagree. The horns will crawl back in short order. It will get worked out, and once it does KU/Mizzou will get the green light from Austin.

twk,

You've fought the good fight on a lot of posts and brought real knowledge in the end of season scheduling issue.

arky/lsu keep playing on the final weekend.
a&m/mizzou continue playing final game until tx and ku come around.

arky/mizzou and a&m/lsu would be a cool opening week SEC border rivalry doubleheader.

aTm need not count its "chicken before they hatch." Sumlin is still what he was at Houston. Yall tried a "quik fix," because even Mack Brown was killing the Aggies, in recruiting. Sherman was an honest HC, and he partook of no shenanigans.

The hiring of Sumlin has changed the "poles", in Aggieland.

I'd keep a close eye on that group you just hired, and would not be too pre-occupied about when you play the Tigers and Longhorns.....just a little warning.

mistert,

It's an old fact that A&M isn't truly successful until the cheating allegations start flying. Looks like we're heading in the right direction.

In a few years it will be a yearly top 10 match up to open the season.

Don't know about the opener- but I believe this will once again be one of the premier rivalries in CFB, for sure. Glad to have you Aggies here with us, finally!

I remember the "renewal game" in '86 that got things fired up again- I was there. Can't wait to renew things in the regular season, once again!

Who cares about the mid-tier Texas A&M.

I still consider Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, and Arkansas to be bigger rival games.

Who cares when LSU plays thier 6th most hated rival? I don't.

I like a cupcake for the opening game to work out the kinks. It would really suck to lose the first game of the season.

I like playing a rent a win for the first game, so Aggie works fine for me
