While CMU is admittedly not a strong team, the Tigers seemed way more prepared and organized.

I'm not a believer in giving any weight to the extent of the win. However, you have to give Coach O and his staff credit for having this team ready to play.

Coach O teams tend to start slow every season. Now that there has been some crisp play, we should expect that to continue next week.

For the rest of the season, Alabama will be, as always, a big challenge.

If LSU continues to improve and grow, a two loss season would be a reasonable and rational prediction.

Thankfully, the "fire Coach O" chatter seems to have subsided. Bear in mind that a 2-loss season would likely place LSU in the Top 16, possibly even the Top Ten given how crazy this season seems to be so far.

The majority screaming on the Rant the last 2 weeks are not reasonable nor rational.

Then I guess you should get out of your own thread then. Anybody who thinks Johnny Jones is a great coach isn't reasonable or rational.

I was not about to sell out my friend to the catcall crowd who was demanding that he be fired.

I am sorry that my friendship with and loyalty to Coach Jones overrides my fan support for LSU.

You’re saying you think it’s “reasonable and rational” to expect that we go 7-1 in SEC play after the past 3 weeks?

Yes, the team looked better against CMU. But to predict that we don’t lose a single game to Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas A&M, Arkansas, or Florida is not reasonable or rational.

ETA: I’ll be ecstatic if we wind up 10-2, don’t get me wrong. I just don’t know how anyone can convince themself that’s the most likely outcome after watching the past 3 weeks.

The rational fan also knows that if LSU loses next weekend, that there is cause for grave concern about the rest of the season.

On the other hand, Max Johnson is gaining valuable experience and Brennan may be back too. So, who truly knows what the future holds.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves by beating Central Michigan. We still had lots of problem with run blocking, poor decisions by our QB, and busted coverage. What we saw yesterday will probably be enough to get past Kentucky, Miss St., and UL, but we still have remaining games against:

1. Alabama
7. Texas A&M
11. Florida
13. Ole Miss
16. Arkansas
23. Auburn

We are realistically staring down a 5-7 season.

I believe most of the sky is falling crowd has gone overboard the last two weeks, but to think that this team will only lose one more game the rest of the season is neither reasonable nor rational. Don't get me wrong, I would be absolutely thrilled as it would squash the coaching change rhetoric as well as likely put us in the Sugar Bowl, but lets face it, it will be a bigger challenge than winning the NC in 2019 was.

This is implausible. And the Oline is probably already near their ceiling; they aren't going to be able to fix that mid season if they couldn't do it in spring or fall. It's just a bad Oline and the only thing that will make it better is recruiting and attrition unfortunately.

Honestly, tiger fans are absolutely ridiculous right now, yes there is a small very vocal minority that make things look lopsided with the way the sky is falling around here all the time

I can’t stress enough how pitiful last nights representation was for our Fanbase

And in regards to your thread, I hope we have more reasonable rational people,
I think 9-3 is completely reasonable right now, if we get a lot better ( and we can improve week to week, it’s what coached up teams do), 10-2 is not out of the question

Could we finish .500, sure, but why be that negative when looking at our ball club, you just suck as a fan if that’s your attitude

You seem to think we can go through the schedule with only one loss to Bama. I dont see it, hope you are right and I am wrong.

This is actually a reasonable and rational post.

Wow, so we lose all 6 games to currently ranked teams?

This should be true almost every season (unless LSU is playing Vanderbilt or some team is having a really bad year). The SEC is full of teams that are capable of winning on any given weekend.

I do realize that 10-2 would require top play from this team, but I think there is nothing unreasonable about demanding the best play this team can muster for every game. Losing to a better team is no disgrace. Losing to a team because you were not prepared or did not put full effort into the game is a disgrace.

9-3 would not be the end of the world (or Coach O), but it would be disappointing (unless one of the wins was Alabama).

I think it's a stretch to say this is "reasonable and rational." Given who LSU is and the apparent talent on the team, I understand why you'd say this, but based on what we've seen so far this season, it's more reasonable and rational to presume 4+ losses, particularly since the first one is already in the bag before LSU has even played a SEC game.

There’s nothing reasonable or rational about your post. We beat up on a shitty MAC team.

This team will lose to UF, Bama, Ole Miss and A&M. And probably Auburn & Arkansas.

Does it matter? If we split those games 50/50 then we finish 8-4.
Is that even remotely acceptable for a program of our stature?
