Great adjustments today. He put a 5’3” kid hitting .71 to protect Doughty in the 5 hole.

That may be too optimistic.

Right now, we're .17 and realistically looking at .11 after Vandy sweeps us too.

....and dont think they won't. They're going to buttfk this team royally and make us like it.

We need to cut our losses with Pawl sooner rather than later.

Sobering thought when a sweep of Vandy won't even get us to .500

He’s 5’8”
He also has only 15 AB
Kid isn’t going to get experience on the bench

I guess I’ll go ahead and eat Crow.

I’m officially on the fire CPM side of the argument.

That’s a bit gross. I imagine they’ll just play baseball instead.

Welcome.... on this side we still watch every game and cheer on the tigers, but we start with the bourbon before the first pitch and have 0 expectations at this point

Program needs younger energy and a fresh voice from someone strong in player development. Time for the old man to kick rocks.

No one here seems to think he is very highly rated, so im not sure where you came up with that

Someone thinks pretty damn highly of CPM and rates him pretty damn high because he is the highest paid College Baseball Coach in the country.

The only thing I can think of is that in Paul's mind if he sits there in the dugout looking dejected people will feel sorry for him instead of wondering if head coaching is an issue on the team?

Well let me just tell you just 3 things that he did today that top level coaches don't do.
Twice today, LSU pitchers had a 0-2 count on hitters. The first time Labas thru a fast ball down the middle and it was hit for a single with two outs. ANY coach with any baseball knowledge tells you the next two pitches CANNOT under any circumstances be hittable pitches. Twice our pitcher threw the 0-2 pitch down the middle. This nonsense has been going on for years and Dunn, who is under PM, is apparently the one that doesn't know how to coach this basic situational baseball to his pitchers. He has to go NOW. Second time was a hard ground out, but the first time, was a clean single that ultimately was the winning run.
Second, LSU has runners on 1st and 2nd and Travinsky hits a centerfield warning track fly ball for the 2nd out. But our runners never advanced or even thought about it. The runner on 2nd could have easily made it to 3rd. No big deal, but what if there would have been a passed ball, there is your tying run. Lastly, in the inning that the ump blew the call at home plate. Vandy led off with a single, bunted him to second, but the bunt was too hard to the 3rd baseman, and he could have been thrown out at 2nd by two steps, but for whatever reason, our second baseman was running to back up first base. This was obviously a coached predetermined play, and it came very close to giving Vandy an additional run.
LSU may have lost the game even if these baseball blunders didn't happen, but the point is that our team isn't being coached winning baseball anymore, if ever by PM. IN the last inning when LSU should have been fired up, and encouraged by their coach, he never moved from his perch, and offered no noticeable fire/encouragement to his team. He is just tired and lazy at this point in his career, and that isn't fair to these players or LSU's great fans. Vandy was the team LSU used to be...from pregame, to players stretching etc between innnings...ALL Vandy players were encouraging and into the game. Our players deserved that dedication.
