Look, when we are slaughtering Missouri or Smiss and we can go party and enjoy college in other ways, we will. Watch close SEC games, we are as loud as any section in any stadium in this country. Ole miss this weekend is gonna be rockin

Except the game was TIED at halftime vs S Miss...and half the student section already left before the 2nd half kickoff.

Yall are walking to Tigerland after the game...so beating traffic isn't an excuse and the bars are open late. Is it that big of a deal to get to the bar at 9:30 instead of 8:30?

If you don't care to watch LSU beat up on lower tier SEC or non-conference games, then sell your ticket to another student who wants to go and will stay til at least the 4th quarter. You can still tailgate then have a few bucks extra beer money to spend at Fred's later.

The adderall generation. Quick results, no patients, no attention span. It is the what's next culture. Always thinking about the next hour and never enjoying the moment. It's a generational problem.

I was a student during Saban's first few years and we never ever left. Even when we were shite stomping Western Carolina or the Citadel, we stayed till the end. Glory days man, i tell ya!

That's pretty funny when you consider which generation brings the millenials to the doc and prescribes all the meds.

Was a student from 72-76. Walked from apartment in Tigerland (it was new and nice back then) to every home game. Got there 2 hours early and walked back an hour after game was over. Best days of my life. One thing I miss the most, Tiger Football on Saturday night. You will look back one day and wish you realized what an incredible opportunity you have. Don't look back with regret!

Nah, man. I'm Gen X, so not in this conversation, but can clearly see it's the Boomers that have been doping their kids with stimulants for 20 years, and now...according to you, we're seeing the results of that.

And I don't blame others when I leave early. I own it and laugh at all you frickers who take it so personally that I'm dad first and Tiger fan second.

You people need to get the frick over it, but you never will. It's the same tired cycle of bitching every year. So you keep bitching, and I'll keep paying my TAF and ticket fees and leaving when my kids get too tired. I got 4 available for Ole Miss this weekend if you want to show me just how dedicated you are though.

The only game I left early as a student was Troy in 2008 and frick anyone who complains about that.

That said, Miles alienated everyone with his shitty coaching the past few years. Alleva isn't helping much with the piped in music and killing off tailgating on Nicholson. Bottom line is: win games and people will stick around. It's not Going to happen over night.

ETA: student section got called out all year in 2014 and showed up big against ole Miss and Alabama. Next few games should be interesting.

I graduated from LSU last year and went to almost every home LSU game in the previous three years. I remember beating up on Eastern Michigan and other cake games, and still stayed until the end because I wanted to watch LSU. I knew that I wouldn't have that opportunity to sit in the student section for only a few years, so i enjoyed every minute of every game. There's no excuse to leave a game early. Period.

From another student perspective:

I have been coming to games my entire life and left early once (last time we lost to Dak at home)... If you wanna leave early in these shite games DONT BOTHER SHOWING UP.

Thanks and that's all

You're in college. You have all day Saturday to party, then a three hour game (give or take) and all night to party again. I was there once. I did the thing. I know the routine. If partying is more important than giving up 3 hours to enjoy a football game and support your team/school, then don't go at all. Someone else might want to use your ticket, instead. Partying is a piss poor reason to leave a game early.

Bingo. The fans attitutde in general has changed/ not just the students. Where I see the biggest drop off is the beginning of the fourth not halftime. By that point we had a good lead and many of my friends wanted to watch other games and drink.

giving up 3 hours
you phrased it this way. what does that say about the game experience?

also, i have tried to sell my tickets to the non-conference games and couldn't get rid of them. you don't know what you're talking about.

So basically the same people that were suggesting people boycott the games earlier in the year are bitching because people are leaving early?

Bunch of damn fair-weather fans.

I bet it isn't the same people. The ones you speak of are probably the ones leaving at halftime of a 10-10 football game.

We are not talking about me we are talking about the student section as a whole I personally stay for games because I am a fan not every sstudent that buys ticket is a huge fan so when we arent doing that well as a team some people will think their time is spent better else where

Then they should stay home and let someone who IS a fan take their spot.
