you don’t need to be a genius to come up with the take that 134 pitches is a lot.

the decision was definitely made based on the situation, feedback from anderson, his velocity looking good, short offensive innings meaning he wasn’t sitting in the dugout too long, and the want to save our pen.

not as upset as you seem to be getting by someone pointing out Anderson threw a lot of pitches.

there is a reason you don’t see guys throw 135 pitches a lot.

Yes there is, it’s usually because by that time they are ineffective, not retiring the last 12 batters in a row.

ETA- Nolan Ryan is laughing his arse off reading this thread and remembering a 235 pitch game he threw early in his career. Didn’t seem to affect him too much.

How many times did paul skenes throw 135 pitches? he usually wasn’t getting hit when he was pulled.

Link the post where I’m criticizing the decision

Or are you just triggered that this is more pitches than any MLB or LSU pitcher has thrown in 15yrs? Is that what is triggering you?

Is that detail relevant to you for any reason?

I’m not upset at all. I think it’s hilarious that a bunch of second guessing twats actually think that they know better than a national champion head coach and the player involved to make better informed situational decisions.

Of course it’s relevant. Why wouldn’t it be

Yeah, he never threw 135 pitches in a game, he managed to finish his game against Tulane only throwing 124.

I’m asking why it’s relevant in your opinion.

He also got pulled many times without finishing the game.

got pulled against arkansas after the 7 having given up 1 run and 2 hits all game at only 105 pitches. why not let him go to 135 and wrap the game up?

I don't see why people are pussyfooting around this.

135 is a LOT of pitches in today's game.

I'm not crazy about it.

I'm not going to pretend it's the end of the world.

I sure as hell am not going to pretend that pitch counts aren't meaningful at all.

Obviously, there are differing opinions on the subject. But, the head coach of Oklahoma was asked early in the game about his pitcher and he mentioned keeping him at about 100.

I really believe that a lot of people here are incapable of acknowledging the obvious when it reflects poorly on LSU.
