Jimbo Fisher, already touted as one of the best offensive coordinators in the country leaves LSU to take a lateral move to coach at Florida State. An FSU program at the time that was down in the dumps. His name was already being floated around for head coaching spots. So why didn't he just ride it out, win a natty the next season, and then take a HC spot? Surely he saw the talent we had coming back.

He got tired of Les meddling with the play calling. Yet our athletic department decided to give this fricker a raise and contract extension. He should have been canned after the 2008 season for being so lazy to the point he didn't even hire a defensive coordinator after Pelini left

He left to get coach in waiting. F off

LSU fans hated him though. And I'm sure les wanted to get a fresh group of his own turds.

To be coach-in-waiting.

This fanbase has serious revisionist history when it comes to Jimbo Fisher.

It wasn't a lateral move. He was guaranteed the HC job when Bowden retired. That's quite a big difference than being OC for Miles.

Jimbo left for the coach-in-waiting position

and you really think we were gonna fire a coach a year after he won the national championship?

not to mention LSU fans celebrated him leaving

one of those classic "grass isn't always greener" scenarios

Exactly. Jimbo had his issues here. The 2006 Auburn game was one of the worst gameplans i can remember. He's grown tremendously since then.

Little did the fanbase know at that time the problem was Miles not Jimbo.

. He didn't become coach in waiting in a vacuum. He sought that out because of the throw down he and Miles had during the auburn game in 2006 (result of Les hijacking play calls)

Les Miles had not won a national championship in 2006.

Great post. You start by f*ckung up a simple English sentence and end by telling an absolute untruth.

Again the intelligence of the lynch mob reveals itself.

From LSU OC to OC/coach-in-waiting @FSU =/= lateral move. It's as upwardly mobile as it gets.

Revisionist history with Fisher for sure. Bubble screens with our talent at WR and J.Russell's canon of an arm.

Even FSU will tell you since he has been there, outside of Jameis Winston improvising in the redzone and pulling a TD out of his arse, there are plenty of offensive series that fail to generate a score because of his play calling.

I don't see Jimbo coming into LSU while Saban is in Alabama and being able to consistently beat their defense with his offensive system. Just don't see that happening. I'm not saying he won't be better than 0-5 against Alabama the last 5 meetings but Jimbo's offense plays directly into what Alabama's defense defends best.
