If Marceaux is good to go for Tuesday, knowing we face UGA, followed by Arkansas, do we throw other pitchers and try to piece together a win, saving Landon for the tilt against Hogs? Or do we simply start the weekend rotation? I’m aware that Ga is a single elimination game and that AJ may not even be a choice at all since he was pulled in his game for issues related to health/fatigue.

Marceaux was pulled for fatigue/tired. Labas got rocked all over the park, that’s why he was pulled early.

We are potentially battling uga for a ncaa tourney spot, no need to over think throwing marceaux if he is ready

Most managers would skip his start and rest him 10 days minimum. My hope would be his fatigue is lower half if he is considering throwing soon.

He needs rest.

If was said that he was sick, not arm fatigue

If it’s not arm fatigue, I’d love to throw Landon against UGA, get him a nice W and some good vibes for post season.

Another masterful performance in a loss to Arky would suck.

I’m with Josh.

It’s not important for LSU to win the SECT. It’s important for LSU to get into the NCAAT. Beating Georgia pretty much locks up LSU’s at large bid to the NCAAT.

You won’t be punished for losing to the #1 ranked team in the country. You could possibly be penalized for losing to a team in competition with you for an at large spot.

I’m more interested in our regional rotation. If we go in as a 4 seed I think we throw Marceaux game 1. If we go in as a 3, who’s out guy?

Would have been nice if LSU won 14 games because this is the perfect season to take a dive in the first game in Hoover and rest everybody.

So a few things here in my mind on strategy:
1) Tuesday is a must win so you go with the best you have
2) if you achieve #1, then Wednesday against Arkansas isn’t a must win. A win however would solidify a bid but no need to throw your second best here.
3) the tourney format is double elimination so assuming you win Tuesday / lost Wednesday (you saved your second best pitcher) you then throw that person Thursday. This could be a critical win. If you win here you will be 2-1 entering Friday. Basically equates to winning another series.
4) If you are still alive here then Friday is tough. Depending on who you play it may be their 3rd or 4th game as well. At this time pitching depth is shot no matter what.

Never say never BUT, this team needs to play for the NCAA tourney. Not winning the SEC tourney so set strategy accordingly!

I’ve never once in my life seen a P5 school as a 4 seed

The 4 seeds are reserved for automatic qualifiers from subpar conferences. LSU will be a 3 seed almost guaranteed unless they make the SECt final. Might get a 2 seed in that case.

It only said fatigued which could be he is just worn from the grind ie his legs are tired. That’s why I said to rest. You can’t pitch on tired legs because that is what leads to arm fatigue.

Agree. If that is the case, you have to start him. There are no better options than that guy on this staff except maybe Hilliard right now! Who knows, this could be 2017 all over again with Hilliard being the Walker of this staff. They would need to pick up the hitting though.

Depends on what you mean by P5. Because Big 10 teams have been 4 seeds. Minnesota has been to LSU as a 4 seed.

Yeah guess you can’t refer to it as “P5” in baseball. Big 10’s conference RPI is never better than 7th. Sun belt, conference USA regularly finish ahead of them in baseball.

You would never see an SEC team as a 4 seed though
