that crap is why we're sliding
Hahahahahahahahahaha
In 2004, we were THREE missed PAT's, a TD with under 30 seconds to go in the game, a TD with 2 minutes to go (at home against TROY), and a 4th quarter comeback against 3-6 Ole Miss away from being ... wait for it...
FIVE AND SIX in Saban's last year at LSU.
Good teams win close games, and step up when necessary. Bad teams lose those games. It's not an indication of a slide to play in close games and win them.

we didn't have the depth in 2004 to sustain losing mauck, clayton, and hill
saban was still building the talent base that we enjoyed from 2005-2007
now in 2008-2009 we face the same depth problems, but there isn't a "program building" excuse

This year, he fixed it. Our defense is solid.
our D isn't that much better than it was in 2008. it improved, but it was far from elite. FAR

Do you think he doesn't know that?
he and his offensive coaches showed no creativity in trying to fix the problem

Look, I remember Gerry Dinardo and Lou Tepper. Don't you think Les Miles is aware of that too?!!
what is the real difference in miles and dinardo, other than miles inherited a team loaded with talent?

Don't try to find a lot of reason in the OP:

the employer who hired les is not here anymore
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well in that case the contract is null and void
Why else would this be mentioned.

SFP calls a man " low character" if he takes money according to a legally binding contract both parties signed in good faith. SFP then deems himself of much higher character cuz he turned down drunk pussy at some skank bar.
Yeah, that all equates!!

A Question about Les Miles and his character
quote:
this will NOT happen!!
we're 1 inch, 1 broken tackle, and an OT away from 6-7
By the same token, we were also a three blown calls, a one play injury, and an unkicked FG away from 13-0.

He hasn't derailed a d**n thing!! Some of you guys don't know a good coach from a hole in the ground! If you were a USC fan I guess you'd be calling for Pete Carroll's head!

Les doesnt work for the money that he makes. Most people who make that kind of money work overtime. Les said that he shuts it down early so he can hang out with the family. Thats great for him and his family, but it doesnt work when your a CEO making the big bucks. Him making that money and not earning it is an area of animosity toward him.
The only reason he got hired is b/c he beat OU twice. Other than that he hadnt done much as a coach.

doesn't miles understand that having to shell out that $10M or so will hurt this program? making us pay it shows low character and a want to hurt the program
You're an attorney, right? Would you advise a client who got fired to refuse to accept a negotiated buyout? Holy shite.

Come on Slow, you know better than this. It's not a fair argument to place a guy in the position of walking away from 10 MILLION DOLLARS because as a man of good character that is what he should do. just doesn't make any sense, IMO.
Regardless of job performance, he has a contract. LSU should honor that contract, and Les has rights to that money.
I am not a Les Miles apologist, btw

I constantly worry about SFP's clients. Any time he offers a legal opinion on this site, it is usually completely wrong. I don't mean "I disagree with it", I mean flat out ignorant of the law.
And asking SFP to make an honest argument is like asking Kige to learn how to turn off Caps Lock.

actually
if i got him a golden parachute with no strings attached, i'd tell him to take that and run to another job
if gets fired and takes the money from LSU and then he gets another job in that time frame he has to credit LSU for the salary he's receiving from the new school

so, i have this question
is miles honorable enough to walk away from the money
Here's a better question......Are you honorable enough to walk away from the law firm you work for knowing that you post about 75 times/day on this website on their dime?
Seriously, a legit question. Do you think they signed up for this?

i have a list of things i have to do. when i do them doesn't matter. as long as i get the job done (which i do)
i've been on the phone with clients for the past 30-40 min or so

Holding LSU to the terms of the contract is not dishonorable.

So you have convinced yourself that you give the firm your very best effort? Does your boss know you are SFP? I'd be willing to bet that he doesn't.
Look, there is nothing wrong with a little Les Miles spice. But you talking about him doing this is just plain idiotic. I'm pretty sure I get you though, you stimulate discussions purposley, whether you believe what you are saying or not. And it appears I have become a willing participant.
