I've been thinking about the pros and cons of that situation. I can't quite decide on whether I think Portland State is going to provide much in the way of prep. Maybe I'm wrong and they will suck so bad they lose to Portland State - that would be the worst!

Good call on the Franklins pre-buy.

Both cities (Austin and Houston) have some amazing food options. Not Café Rio or Café Zupa's good :P but you know a close second lol.

No problem - I've got super thick skin - or i'm fat can't tell. As I mentioned in the breakdown of the o-line our tackles could certainly be an issue with your size and speed on the ends. It will be imperative to fix that with personnel, but that will make it more difficult to move the ball - certainly could be a major problem.

Ya caught me! In my defense - someone asked me for videos and pictures of formations earlier so my request on clarification of a few items seems tame.

Terrible Fake Punt Fakes? you got it! Check out the fake punt against Boise from our own end zone last year. Probably going to dial that up a couple of times in the NEAR future!

I'm gonna take a guess that you're 28-34 years old, probably a financial advisor. This is not a jab at all, just a guess. I'm usually pretty good at this. I could be totally wrong but the effort you put into this post is something that should be commended. Good luck to y'all.

P.S. you're getting your arse kicked:)

Don't these Joseph Smith cult members have their own board to do this shite on?

Great form JR!

It'll be a good game but I do expect a 21pt spread in our favor.

Outstanding breakdown and analysis, Roundstone. I, for one, am expecting a battle in the trenches. After last season's opener against Wisconsin, I'm not taking anyone lightly. Best of luck

Great string of posts! Really appreciate your knowledge of your team and your ability to temper your homer-ism for the purposes of discussion.

In relatively recent years, admittedly under a new coach, LSU has generally played to the level of competition in early season matchups with the games being close even if you could argue that LSU had a talent advantage. Wisconsin, North Carolina, Washington and perhaps others. The only real exception to this that I can recall (without googling) was the devastation of Oregon in 2011, but the margin of victory in that game had a lot to do with the risk of a blowout you identified: LSU's D and special teams doing much of the scoring. My thinking is that the spread in this game is about right. LSU is a talented but imperfect team and I expect BYU to be in the game in the fourth quarter if they are not underwater on turnover differential.

Can't wait!
