In my estimation - you guys who think you’re going to hang a 30 pt differential on us are out of your damned minds (unless the defense is doing the scoring - which could be the case). The current spread I think is a good one, because I’m not sure if I take BYU or LSU to cover. (Probably lean BYU cover - you know - fandom and all that)

FWIW I agree with you. I expect Mangum to make some plays in the first half. Our DBs will need to get acclimated to the game, our LBs will struggle to get everyone on the same page, and our pass rushers will need to see what moved are working. I expect the passing game to be a little out of sync, but the running game to be solid enough to keep us even. I feel like that always happens to start the season.

Then something will happen. We will force a turnover, make a big special teams play, or break off a long run. Then it will click and we will take control of the game. Tigers will win by around 10-17 depending on if the defense allows late points.

Or at least that's how it plays out in my head.

One of the things that I think some of your BUY ilk are understating is our offense. Post Miles (8 games), it was a top 25 offense average 465 yards a game (and that includes the calamity of 125 against Bama).

Heck the first game post Miles we set the team record for most yards in a game. 2 after that highest RB yards in a game only for that to fall a few games after that.

Point being, against teams not named Bama, we are not rebuilding a 90th ranked offense. It was a top 25ish offense last year.

On the flip side, I just don't see where the scoring will come from. In our 4 losses we gave up 3 TDs total. 1 red zone TD. Think about that. Then think about your kicker, and then think about it some more.

I didn't say anything is negated. I said it's a HUGE factor. Not just some "yeah, I guess that too" type of thing. I'm just adding to, not taking away. Anyone who thinks it's not big, see Joel Stave. He looks decent when that monster OL allowed him to make a Wisconsin grilled cheese back there before throwing.

A smart man never passes low hanging fruit...

That's how he accumulates some fine arse wives.

Good work . By the 4th, your guys will be boarding the plane...in their minds.

No need to think about it and then think about it some more. Where in my post did I mention score totals? It's a new offensive system - point blank. Implementing for the first time in a live action scenario. It's not going to click right off the bat - I'm estimating the first half. There is absolutely nothing in my post that suggests otherwise. I think BYU will keep it close - so before it is suggested that I think about this earth-shattering new information you provided me, perhaps read the post and then think about your post and then think about it some more.

If they are low hanging fruit - are they truly "fine arse wives"?

True, it's getting a bit old at this point. Need to spend more time grilling you about becoming a god of your own planet and magic underwear.

What part of some of your ilk made you think I was referring to you? Responding to you, yes - not referring. For someone so desperately trying to be witty, you may want to read a little before you respond.

I suppose those are more interesting, but after this long they still feel along the same lines. Nothing magic about underwear so I guess I don't get riled up by that one, depending on how we go with the God-like thing it wouldn't rile me but could be thought provoking. At least that one would show some kind of effort was made so it's a start. Get back to me!

Reading comprehension lead me to believe this directive was pointed at me as compared to the "BUY ilk" you had mentioned earlier. Seems there might be 2 of us "desperate" to be witty. The only thing i'm desperate for is college football - also the BBQ i will be having in Austin prior to the road trip down to Houston for the game. Lighten up fella - shite!

Hit me with what you got. What particularly about it would you like to discuss? Though my preference would be to get some info on LSUs team a little further if we can start an alternate thread for the aforementioned discussion.
