Offense
QB: Jennings (unless BH or HR really tear it up in the Spring/Fall camps)

WR3: Quinn (slot on 3 receiver sets)
TE: Gordon starts, Stokes and Smith get more plays on obvious passing downs

C: Porter
RG: Pocic
RT: Hawkins
Defense
LDE: Rasco
DT: Lacouture
DT: Q. Thomas
RDE: Hunter

CB: Thomas (nickel)
FS: Mills
SS: Thompson
Special Teams
PK: Delahoussaye
P: Keehn
PR: Peterson

Anyone that doesn't have Collins at LT is a moron. No way this guy is giving up hundreds of thousands to play guard. This thread needs to be whacked for stupidity.

With everybody putting Mills at safety I have to say that we play nickle and dime too much for that. I think our three best cover guys are Mills, White, and Rashard, and they will all play corner. Who starts is really just for status because they'll all play a lot of snaps. And the thing that decides which plays the most snaps won't be talent, it will be who plays his assignments without making mistakes. All of these guys have the talent to dominate the other team. The only way Mills plays safety is if we can't get our safeties up to par. But with Cory, Ricky, Ronald and Jamal I think we'll have it covered.

Dillon Gordon over Desean Smith?
Posted on 1/17/14 at 8:51 am to tadelatt
I like this game. Great post.
I'd tweak the line up to include Neighbors at FB, Pocic somewhere on the O-line, Robinson at cornerback, Jefferson at safety, and one of the newcomers at wide receiver. I don't think Fournette starts, in the literal sense, but I think he gets the most carries vs. Wisky.

For the run game, which will be our bread and butter next year, you bet your sweet arse.
He's one of the best blocking TEs in the country. Smith will play a lot and catch a lot of passes. I look forward to seeing him as a red zone target.

I don't know if he'll start, but I expect Jefferson to get a lot of PT next year.

Could Thompson play WLB?
Posted on 1/17/14 at 10:13 am to WhySoSerious
I'd rather move Martin to LB than Thompson, assuming Thompson is healthy. I thought Thompson had a torn acl, but I'm not sure.
all this stuff is hard to call without seeing how we finish recruiting, if there's any attrition and what certain guys' injury status is.

Based on what we have and without too much freshman speculation (don't want to get hopes too high). More of a depth chart than a starting lineup
QB: Jennings/Rivers/Rettig/Harris
RB: Magee/Hilliard/Fournette
FB: Neighbors/Jones/Hilliard
WR: Dural/Quinn/Peterson
WR: Diarse/Leslie/ Dupre (Hope to God)
TE: Gordon/Smith/Dickson/Washington
OT: Collins/Pocic
LG: Alexander/Austin
C: Porter
RG: Pocic/Dodd/Boutte
RT: Hawkins/Boutte
DE: Rasco/Allen
DE: Hunter/Bower/Neal
DT: Thomas/Bain/Gilmore
DT: Lacouture/Herron
OLB: Jones/Phillips/Louis
MLB: Welter ( )/Beckwith/Garrett
OLB: Alexander/Riley/Feist
CB: Robinson/Collins/Mills
CB: White/Adoree (out on a limb)
FS: Martin/Thompson/Adams
SS: Mills/Jefferson/Paris
Nickel: Thomas/Mills/Adoree
K: Delahoussaye
P: Keehn
KR: Magee/Dural/Peterson
PR: Dural/Peterson/White
Pretty good football team if Jennings manages the game well and the DTs can get enough push for 4 full quarters
ETA: Forgot Adams

I hope there is a better option at fullback than KH. He hasn't shown he's stout enough to play there consistently. Neighbors is a lot more stout as an every down FB.

Seeing you guys lineups gets me fired up about the 2014 team. Just need to get the QB figured out. Someone who can get the ball into the hands of the playmakers hands he has at his disposal. Mett did a good job of that last year. Need that again from one of those guys for the offense to be great.
