I shared a similar post last season from my best friend who is a HUGE Bama fan, BUT has always been upfront and honest about his team's performance. Here are this thoughts heading into Saturday night:

"Bama is good....REALLY good/great on offense. I've never seen a QB with this kids arm talent and anticipation with his throws. Good news for us is he has done this when he has time...and when he is pressured. The kids just performs. He will get his yards, his completions, and my guess is a few TDs...not the 350ys/4TD he is used to, more like 250/2TDs.

This game will be won or lost for Bama on our ability to run the ball. We haven't done it well all season. Our OL has been pass blocking like the NE Patriots...but run blocking like the Cleveland Browns. Sad...I've never seen it like this at Bama in the Saban era, and he knows it.

Our Defense has some major concerns that hasn't shown up on the casual fans radar, or the media for that matter. We are getting gashed for 20+ yard plays at an insane rate. This has come from all facets....long passes, screens, TE coverage busts and simple runs.

The DL is for the most part doing our job, but our "all world" LBs are not playing up to their HS star rating. Wilson and Moses had minimal experience coming into the season and it shows. Their run fits are TERRIBLE, and they miss assignments of RBs in the flat time after time. Probably the brightest spot on our D has been the play of a brand new, young secondary. They have 12 picks so far...giving up a long pass or 4 each game, but otherwise solid.

Our ST is the worst in the Saban era. Our scholly punter just got replaced by a walk on after posting a 37 yd average through 7 games. Our FG kicker is 8-14...and we have missed 4 extra points....its insane that Saban can recruit all other postions except for kickers!!!

This game will be close, back and forth throughout and come down to someone making a play in the end. I agree your guys have been in dog fights against top 15 teams while we have cruised playing no one. That is advantage LSU in a big way. But this is basically the offense and players who rallied us against UGA in the Natty last year so its not like they have never been in pressure situations before. While I like our chances as well as you do your Tigers...I'm not the naive bama fan who wears crimson colored glasses and thinks we are going to run LSU out of tiger stadium this Saturday night...that isn't happening. We will be lucky/happy with a one point win.

I'll close by saying that this run since 2011 has been unprecedented in the LSU/Bama matchups. It will end at some point, and that point might be this Saturday night. This LSU team is more than capable of winning this game. You don't beat UGA like you did and not have the ability to do the same to Bama."

Break--Break

Let's GEAUX win this darn game,

We have the best DBs in the country, but if we can't get a pass rush on Tua, it's going to be a long night. Even our DBs can't cover these receivers forever.

some interesting stuff there.
Hopefully LSU can get Bama to punt more often than not and hold them to FG's and see how bad they really are at it.

3 things we are terrible at.

Keys to the game will be if Bama can run the ball, and if LSU can score some points against a defense that hasn't appeared to be as dominate as in the past.

No matter how great your QB is, Cam Newton, Tebow, Manziel, Matthew Stafford, or any of the middle tier QBs from the SEC these last two decades....you win games when you win in the trenches. Lose upfront and those elite skill position talents are neutralized.
