Dylan is a special player, and he never lets the situation get too big,” Johnson said. “He executes his plan, and he’s the best player on the planet. He’s just super committed to what he knows he needs to do. He’s a special talent, but the talent comes out like that because he’s so consistent in how he approaches the game.”

It's generic coachspeak praise. What's great about it?

I think he would be top 10% if he was in the big leagues this year. His approach at the plate will translate at any level. His biggest weakness last year was the slider. He’s vastly improved that part of his game and now takes those pitches. He will have a very short stint in the minors.

Have you even followed the team this season? I’m not nearly as invested as I have been before, and I know that your post is pure horseshite.

Bergman was in a very unusual set of circumstances coming up to make the show in the same year... but I would guess Crews's time in minors less than 2yrs.

yep. You know you’re good when you’re in a slump and you’re still better than 99% of other players in the country

I saw him strike out once. Not many people get that chance so I feel pretty blessed

I know Jay didn't have him for all 3 years, but Dylan will be the sales pitch for every incoming high school draft risk. Special talent out of high school, and could've gotten a nice bonus but only to ride on crappy buses, stay in roach motels, eat fast food, be another guy down on the farm, and just hope to be developed into a big leaguer...all while missing out on the college experience. Instead, he chose to live the high life, in a college setting, and develop his baseball IQ to go along with the talent that he already had and end up a top 5 pick (big bonus) that is ready mentally and physically to get his first MLB contract quicker than he probably could have signing out of high school. Not every story will end that way, but it could...Dylan Crews is proof.

At his first press conference CJJ said he asked SW to confirm that Crews had 2 more years. He knew back then what kind of player he was getting.

I've said this before: If you want to make a small investment in a couple of autographed trading cards of his on Ebay right now, the odds that they will increase in value several times over are good.
