Where are the legitimate drops outside of this?

ETA: The Rant's idea that a ball that hits you in the hands and is incomplete = a drop is absurd.

None of these are drops:

That isn't exactly a Dupre highlight reel, and I'd like to see 1 or 2 get pulled down, but they aren't drops.

None of them had as many drops as dupre and so late in their LSU careers.

Dupre was thought to have been a 1st round draft pick coming out early. I think he's really been exposed this year. It's unfortunate.

5. Backside roll out screen the defense read well that was batted down.
The batted ball was a Godsend. I haven't watched the replay but by memory a pick 6 was possible if the ball didn't get batted down.

Etsiah had no business throwing this one and appeared to have him mind set on throwing it without looking first. (my humble opinion).

Overall, first time ever playing for LSU - I think he did a great job and sparked the team.

Also, they seem to have trouble getting separation.. could it be the formations and the routes they run? I'm not sure..
Some routes WR is only open momentarily, sometimes bad reads and sometimes open but ball not placed where only WR can play it.

I wish they would step up more though or we would run more 4-5 receiver sets with different routes.
Need to do well with progressions on 2 and 3 WR sets.
What good is empty with piss poor pass pro and more decisions for QB struggling with reads?

the defender defended it well, but Dupre still has to come down with that

he had position and 2 hands on the ball

the defender did what Dupre failed to do on the INT...while being 5 inches shorter

Even with all of the drops and playing soft I expect him to start this Saturday. I also expect him to keep dropping passes. I just wonder where the coaches draw the line of benching a junior WR with aspirations of going to the NFL next year.

The third and 12 against Wisconsin over the middle. Was still a bad throw but he should have caught it.

The two or tree short overthrows early in the game against wisconsin i don't think are drops, but it would be nice if he made a nice catch for at least one of them.
He's had drops on bad throws. No i don't expect him to make all those catches, but it would be nice to catch 1 of them.

What you expect out of Dupre and what is a drop are obviously two different things. Defended passes that still hit the WR aren't a drop.

I've got no problem with the expectations, and as I said, you expect these to go your way more often than ZERO times, but a drop is harsh for all of this stuff. The 3rd and 17 play is a ball where the defender got a hand in there.

This is a drop

Yeah...some drops are more forgivable than others

at this level, if you have position and get 2 hands on it, its a drop IMO

This is where I'm at with Dupre. Individually none of the borderline "drops" are something to go crazy about. Collectively the fact that none are being hauled in is concerning.

You think Les cares about individual recruit rankings?

like he goes to Rivals and thinks "oh this kid is ranked #27, we should offer him"

Dural was open

Dural had 3 red jerseys around him, although he was a step in front of them.
I am down on Dupre's performance the last 2 games, but I don't think he could have done anything differently. He slowed down because the ball was underthrown and tried to get the ball away from the DB. I would not fault Dupre for this int, the DB timed it just right and made a heck of a play on an underthrown ball.

I think that you're missing a few targets in the film evidence. As poorly as some of those balls were thrown, he should have caught 2-3 of those.

The 3rd clip BH chooses to throw that vs press coverage and Dural has a 10 yd cushion opposite side on a curl.

That is every borderline throw vs. Wisky. I don't have JSU done yet.

The back shoulder throw and the INT could/should have been caught. They aren't drops though, which is my point, although it is concerning that he doesn't seem to come up with any of the tough ones through 2 games.
