They are making it to hard for the players to grasp. Therefore you have people running around doing their own things and that's when you have these break downs and players start pointing at one another. If they just start making it simpler they would have more success.

How many collective starts have the starters had before this season?

Is this an inexperienced defense?

This sounds similar to Ohio State's issues on defense last year.

The whole "Aranda has all these different defenses" stuff makes me frustrated.

Lets get one good one mastered, then start working on the bells and whistles.

Jacoby Stevens even said they know the offense can score 50 so they relax.

I think LSU’s biggest issue on defense is that the they went against the offenses of Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss instead of the Cincinnati, Rutgers, and Maryland.

Simply not missing as many tackles as they do would make for a huge improvement.

Lsu defense does not tackle is the main problem, and they not play man to man like they used to with under Aranda. The talent is there and can be better than Clemson's

Stop with the tackling bs. Do you know how hard it is to tackle a wr or rb in space? Not to mention a Chase, Helaire, Ruggs, Jefferson or Judy in space one on one. That's why the scheme works you get a man on man in space. The d line has to bring pressure to slow down the scheme. LSU dline pressure is non existent.

Lack of a true FS and the inability for us to generate pressure with a four man rush are our 2 biggest issues.
Teams like Auburn , Georgia and Ohio ST can get pressure with 4 which gives you the ability to get really creative on the back end and causes fits for the offense.

EXACTLY what was wrong with Schiano's OSU defense last year. This year they got rid of him and went to a more basic understandable D. But can that be done mid year with the same D. coach?
