I am assuming you are betting Bama wins out or UF somehow leapfrogs into the national title?

...we probably have a better shot at being in a BCS bowl than making it to the SEC championship game.

That was my hope/prediction coming into the season.
1. The QB issue.
2. The schedule (big 4 of Auburn, Florida, Georgia,
and Alabama) I thought a record of 2-2 would have been great.
3. Just like '06. On the outside of the SEC
championship game looking in - waiting to pass
the loser in the final BCS rankings.

I'm sure we would all take that now.

I just do not see the Big 10 getting at an large BCS bid if PSU makes it to Miami.

LSU wins out and they could make it but do not forget that only two teams from a conference can go to BCS bowls.

Problem is, even in that senerio, UGA would get the at large bid.

To date the loser of the champ game has not gotten a BCS at-large bid (See Missouri also)

Georgia will not fall behind us if they lose this weekend and we win to tulane, so they will be higher ranked. We will not jump Georgia if we beat bama

And since UGA beat us they get the nod.

We win out we go to Cap one or Cotton in the best case senerio.

Fact is, do you really want to play another BCS caliber opponet with the way we are playing right now?

Who would get it?

10 spots

2 SEC
2 Big 12
1 Big 10
1 Pac 10 (USC)
1 Big East
1 ACC
1 Boise/Utah

That's 9. Unless Oregon St wins out, and takes the Pac 10 automatic over USC (making them an at large), the Big 10 will get the last spot.

In order for that all to play out, there needs to only be 1 Big11Ten team in the top 14 (required for at-large selection) If Penn State goes to Miami, then the Rose Bowl will take the first available Big11Ten team, ESPECIALLY if its Ohio State, as Ohio State has not played there since 1996 or 1997. (right? The Arizona State game...)

Now, if OSU falls out of the BCS range, then I still believe we would need Georgia to lose another game besides Florida, so that they're 9-3 and we are 10-2. EIther Auburn or Georgia Tech would have to beat them.

But if we have a victory over Alabama, and they are 11-2 compared to our 10-2 AND Georgia is 9-3, we would go to the BCS game.

Oklahoma would fill the Big XII spot left open in the Fiesta Bowl.

BAMA goes to the SEC championship, even if they lose they'll get a BCS bid over us.

Not if we beat them as well. We both have 2 loses and we beat them so we'd get the bid.

What are you talking about? The effort is there and generally has been all year, even parts of UF. They play with effort they will have a great shot at beating the Gumps

Where do you people come up with this shite? Do you really want to see LSU play USC in a BCS game? We are not good enough to play with USC this season. Trust me, you really don't want this.

Rose Bowl would be USC vs either Ohio State/Georgia/or LSU.

Only if UGA or LSU joins the Big-10 quickly. But I'd love to see it. The rose has had teams play. Tie in is Big 10 and PAC-10.

This reminds me of the thread on the Texas A&M board after they lost the season opener to Arkansas State and someone asked if they could still play in the BCSCG if they won out.

This team needs to worry about becoming bowl eligible first and work from there. Post season bowls are a privilege that are earned.
