Look for this to be repeated at least 1,000 times by Gary Danielson now as well.

Harvin made Tebow. You have trouble keying on both. Harvins gone=Tebows reign is over.
LSU28 Fla. 20.

I would take LSU at that spread in a second. That's easy money IMO for a night game at Tiger Stadium.

If you want the most realistic, non-dumbass homer opinions, go with the guys that review this stuff for a living- Vegas bookies.

Here's on of the better, well-thought out, and reasoned analysis of the Tigers and their chances in 2009.

LSU Tigers Prediction

Stopped reading when I saw this:

quote:

The Tigers had a very out-of-character slump year in ’08, especially for a program that makes it an annual tradition to haul in USC-caliber recruiting classes. We’ll see if LSU can pull off the same magic with smallish, lightly-regarded senior Joe Cox this season.

Nice. Is that prediction for LSU, or for UGA?

Yeah, pretty glaring error, but the rest of it's pretty spot on. FWIW, almost every other bookie in Vegas has LSU between 9.5 and 10 wins (counting the bowl game).

I agree and so does the market. Bet down to -8 now.

Given the schedule, I would say at best we'd be 11-1. In all honesty though, 10-2 isn't out of the question. 9-3 is probably more likely.

However, if we win less than 9 games, something really bad is going on. I personally think we'll split the games with Ole Miss, Bama, UGA, and UF. And I think we beat Arky this year since the game is on Saturday and not hangover Friday.

Bottom line is if we get good QB and OL play, we could be looking at a very nice season of 10-2 or 9-3. If we get an upgrade of defensive play in 2 of our biggest games (Fla. and Bama or Ole Piss, take your pick), combined with the above, we could be looking at 11-1. The stars will all have to align to make that happen though, IMO.

I don't like how the schedule sets up with a road game at UGA, then UF at home the next weekend which will be the end of a 6 straight game start to the season, and will take a lot of focus and emotion to win both. That could easily be a 0-2 swing. When was the last time LSU won in Athens? If the Tigers want to put themselves in a position to have a great season, ie 10-2 or better regular season, then they need to start games with defensive intensity and scoring from the first series, not wait until the second half to perform as they have done in many games the last two years.

I am of the belief that it cannot possibly get any worse than last year in regards to the D and QB play. Based on the fact I expect improvements in that area, I think that can equal 2 more wins in the regular season. The UGA game should be interesting. It won't be easy playing in Athens. I also have a funny feeling we're going to get some payback to Ole Miss. I think we end up 2-2 with our 4 tough games.

i say we go 10-2 but wouldn't be suprised at 9-3. 8-4 and Les might be "catching some heat". we went 7-5 with bad qb play and a horrible defense. granted both are quesitons marks right now but LSU kinda reminds me of Tennessee went in 07. it's not like (Tennessee) they had great qb play, and their defense wasn't great that yer, yet they won the east and ended up winning 10 games. i think our defense and qb will be better than what tennessee had in 07.
