10-2 SEC Champs. (worst case)
11-1 probably...and Can you say "National Champion"?

What can I say...I'm an optimist.

I am just gonna say it now... Vandy has a better record than us next year....

JJ gets hurt second game, Lee comes in throws INT for 6 and fans riot burning Tiger Stadium down and putting Les's arms on bridge, head on capitol, and legs from Alex Box.

We will then have to forfeit te remaining games of season.

LSU is capable of winning every game. But statistics say they wont.

Statistics -- apparently that's all you did last year, and all you're doing with your pick this year -- you're picking a number and throwing it out there because of statistical probablity. It's actually the easiest of all things to do. Tell me that you predicted Jarrett Lee to throw all those pick-6 interceptions last year; or tell me that you knew the team would be going through the motions for the last three regular season games after an emotional loss to Alabama and I'll say you're on to something. Otherwise, there are way too many unknowns at this point to predict how LSU will finish next season, although I'm sure it will all seem crystal clear after the fact.

How will JJ handle being the starter all season? Good or bad? How effective will the new defensive coaches be? Who's going to step up at wide receiver after Brandon Lafell? Speculate all you want, but, among the many, none of these questions will be answered until LSU hits the field. Until then, cite your statistical probabilities all you want, but they don't tell the story or give you any more credibility than a math teacher. And thanks for predicting that injuries at key positions could hurt LSU. That was pure genius.

I really don't understand why people just throw in the towel against UF. Tebow is good, but you'd think he's Tom Brady or something the way people talk. Get pressure in his face, and you'll see why NFL scouts have questions about him.

+ 10,000. Remember '07 when we had the almighty Tebow squawling like a little girl.

I can't wait to see it happen again.

A loss to UGA? Not likely. Every UGA fan, rightfully so, is holding his breath about the upcoming season. Reason: no QB. Stafford was highly overrated (except in his own mind) and Joe Cox isn't anywhere near that calibre. Furthermore, UGA has got some serious coaching problems (i.e. Willie Martinez) and we know what that can do to a team. There are no signs that UGA will be a serious contender. I'll be in Athens and I expect to be driving home very happy.

While I'm at it. Tebow is great, but not unbeatable. Ole Miss? Well, let's see. If you want to talk about settling scores, don't you think LSU has a few? After all that happened last year those guys came to Atlanta and embarrassed a fine Ga Tech team. Now that we've corrected the coaching issues (with one of the best) LSU is ready. This season ought to be fun.

By the way, Les Miles and Trent Johnson were terrific at Atlanta's Tiger Tour.

We'll be winning the Sugar Bowl. We won the Peach Bowl in '00, won the Sugar Bowl in '01-'02. We won the Peach Bowl in '05, won the Sugar Bowl in '06-07. We won the Peach Bowl in '08...

No. I mention statistics in response to all the posters that predict 11-1 or 12-0 every year. Cant be done annually in the SEC. You cant hide flaws and question marks in the SEC, like you can in the PAC 10 or Big 12.

Last year's team had a lot of question marks- defense was one of them. And no, I didnt forecast JL throwing all the pick 6's, but after RP got booted QB was obviously going to be a weakness for us.

This year's team has fewer question marks, but a much tougher schedule. You cant predict every circumstance, but you can forecast the big picture. Thats why people buy all those preseason mags.

And I'm not claiming to be a great prognosticator. I love the Tigers, but try not to let that prevent me from looking at the team rationally. Some people on here expect LSU to win each game, and they are the same ones that are ready to run the coach off when the inevitable loss happens.

Good grief, I'm getting so sick of hearing this, the season hasn't even started yet and we are already hearing it 50 times a week from ESPN (and now, LSU fans ). Look for this to be repeated at least 1,000 times by Gary Danielson now as well.

I'm a Tiger fan win, lose or draw. I will always be a Tiger fan no matter what happens.

I don't see the weaknesses others see in this Tiger team, nor do I see the strengths others do in our opponents.

IMO, LSU can and will beat every team on our schedule in 2009. There is no team out there that is head and shoulders better than LSU, not if the Tigers play their best each game. No one in or out of the conference is so much better that the Tigers can't win.

I firmly believe this will be a special year for LSU, one long remembered by it's fans.

everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but your logic is flawwed, we have more talent than last years team and are slightly more experienced. IMO we can go 10-2 at best. Probably more likely to be 9-3, i don't see us falling to 8-4. Thats my two cents.

I have to agree. While I believe going undefeated will be difficult, I struggle to see where the losses will come from this year. My attitude with respect to the football program is by no means panglossian, as last season I expected us to lose at least three games.

However, it's important to look at how we lost last year. With an entirely revised defensive coaching staff, our defense will not only have the talent and speed it has maintained for years, but will reacquire the discipline, aggressiveness, and coordination required to win games.

The other issue was, obviously, with the quarterbacks. We went through, what, 4 QB's? When was the last time a team went through 4 QB's in one season? I honestly believe JJ is going to be sensational this year. Every time I watch this video, ( LINK ), I can't help but smile knowing that JJ will be leading this offense. However, he not only has the skills required to win big games, but he has an unwavering level of confidence that a few of our previous QB's struggled to find.

So, our two most debilitating issues last year have been corrected. However, I think the wins comes this year primarily from the "wild card" factor. Last year, we were coming off a national championship. We were likely less motivated than we could have been. The players (and even coaches) may have taken a relatively lax approach to practices and workouts during parts of the season. It certainly showed at times.

This team, however, has something to prove now. They're out to prove that last year was nothing more than an anomaly. You think Arkansas is going to beat us for a third straight year? Do you think this team is going to allow Ole Miss to beat us again? And Bama? I honestly don't see it happening. As others have stated, after four early sleepers, we'll be ready, both mechanically and emotionally, to play UGA. UGA has always underperformed, and they simply have too many holes to fill for me to be worried about this one.

So, I'll go ahead and call a 1 loss (2 max) regular season, with a birth in the Sugar Bowl at the least. I think we make it to the SECCG against UF, and from there, who knows. I think the outcome of the SECCG, should we make it, will be influenced somewhat by the outcome of the regular season match up between us and the Gators.

Stating the obvious but injuries on the Offensive, Defensive Line or Linebacker positions could be brutal. If those 3 positions could remain healthy, we'll be in a position to win the major games. It not, we're in trouble.

The other thing to consider about UF is that it is rare for a champion to come out and play well the next season. The fire disappears and they get complacent. Then they don't work as hard. UF might not be as tough as the consensus expects.
