Did none of you watch the game or go to it last weekend? That crowd was very very pro Miles. That cannot be denied. And the opinions of those paying for tickets to the games carries more weight than posters on here.
So? all the Miles circle-jerkers showed up for one game to commiserate. Then it turned into a tribute to the man. what was the attendance...80,000 maybe?? Probably many first-timers who were given tix, wanting a glimpse of the departing despot.
What? This suddenly fixed all our problems and everything is rosy because Miles has a new lease on life?

Is keeping Les Miles the right decision?

Is keeping Les Miles the right decision?

I get the discontent, but Miles deserves at least one more year. 33.48%
Yes. Wanting to fire Miles was/is ridiculous. 29.98%
No. Saturday should've been Miles' last with the Tigers. 26.04%
If LSU couldn't get Jimbo Fisher... 10.5%

You people are insufferable. You pick and choose your arguments, ignore the most blatantly obvious of trends that SUPPORT what the detractors of Miles have been saying for YEARS!!! And if someone saw through Les' facade of being this great football coach when the team was barely winning games in which they had vastly superior talent, then good on them.
You frickers are the ones that have the short memory and just regard a win as a win or a loss as a loss and don't see the games for what they are. Those years Les was finishing Top 10 and losing 1-2 games, were we winning comfortably? Or was Tyrann Mathieu bailing Les out from games he was doing everything in his power to frick up?! No QB development, horrible clock management, poor assistant hirings, seemingly no scheming for the next team on the schedule, definitely no halftime adjustments, and playing down to lesser talent have been CONSTANTS under Les Miles. Has the winning consistent with the pay grade and talent level been constant? NO.
To people who actually work to develop and improve society, the graph for Les' success would show a very obvious downward trend. Consistent losses to teams we are roughly comparable to and approximately 2-3 additional losses to teams we should be at least competitive with considering our superior talent.
But please, keep making excuses, ad hominem arguments trying to defame anyone with an opinion contra to yours... LSU football is certainly immune to a return to the Dark Ages as you all have admonished. It is, in fact, NOT. And all you Les supporters along with the absolute pitiful excuse for leaders in people like F. King Alexander, Jindal, et al... You are responsible for this. YOU OWN THIS.
The rest of us always have and always will pull for our tigers, just won't be nearly as surprised when the trend continues to tend toward the direction it has been going. Thanks for that.
tl;dr: GFY

totally agree....
Unfortunately, this will fall on deaf ears as the SPs will refute everything you've said and try to make you feel like less of a fan for having posted it.
These posters suffer from both short and long-term memory loss.

if anything, the past couple of weeks have proved that this board does not represent the majority voice of LSU fans

From my somewhat limited knowledge of your post history, you have been a seemingly pragmatic type of poster.
Can you address my post?

And, as always, me posting a sound, well-founded argument asking legitimate questions to the ones with their heads in the sand gets no responses and buries the thread.
Reason has and will continue to be the /thread of tRant.

I'll try...
What years are you talking about? 2010 and 2011? If 2011, then yes, LSU was winning very comfortably. 2010...not so much.
But if you are going to claim that Mathieu was the one saving Les, and if you are going to put blame of all the negatives 100% on Les, then you have to in turn put the positives 100% on Les as well. So in this case, you also have to credit Les for putting Mathieu in position to make those plays.
I'll give you the QB development. That has definitely lacked.
The others, while warranted criticisms, are severely over blown.
Les is most certainly a top 10 paid coach based off his past achievements. That is generally how things work.
And looking at coaches salaries around the country, Les's salary isn't outrageous. $3-$4 million is about the standard these days for bigger programs. Les isn't getting paid "top" money anymore.
This has always been kinda the nega matra, no? I haven't seen many pumpers make this argument.

yeah...but we're insufferable
what a bunch of women. stop trying to act like Miles is on a Archer/Hallman level. He'll go down as the best coach in LSU history and it pisses you off

Nega/Posi... When the word around town was that Les was out, I don't know if there was a Les supporter in sight that wasn't running on here to post of the impending doom and gloom without Les.
