They'll be back, but when Wisconsin's winning Big 10 Championship after Big 10 Championship while OSU and Penn State're on probation, there's a problem in Ann Arbor. MSU, ND, and OSU gets Michigan kids every year at a higher rate than anyone school coming to LA, and LA has produced more NFL talent than Michigan (not just per capita). How's this a better job? Because they have a stale gameday experience?

In regard to X and O's of the game?

Miles is a great coach. We have to remember that Sabah wasn't an elite coach when he was at lsu.

Very good program guy
Some very questionable game day coaching moments.
Overall, he's been a huge positive for the program and there aren't more than a handful of coaches I'd trade him for.

It's been an awesome 8 years. I love Les

Well- lets look at a scenario where Les was not around here any more for whatever reason. If we were to get rid of Les, who would we get? Les has been able to consistantly beat everyone- except Saban. Would LSU be able to hire anyone who could beat Saban? or is as good as Saban? I doubt it.
Saban is a freak of a coach and as long as he is around it is going to be tough for anyone else to win the west consistantly. Why was everyone so upset when Saban took the Bama job? Its because we all knew what he was capable of on the field and the recruiting trail. LSU will always be competitive- but Les and his style (or anyone else) will never have the crazy success Saban has had at Alabama.

I agree. Taking the risk to hire someone else isn't worth it. Les has shown he can beat Saban when most cant. shite he out coached him most of the game last year, just couldn't pull it through

Les has been great for LSU. He's the only coach in CFB that gets judged against Saban which is a bit unfair because Saban is possibly the greatest HC in the history of the game.

85-21 and a Natty....be satisfied folks.

I generally agree with OP and JRockford, and like Miles personally.
I lost a LOT of respect for Les and more for Alleva arising out of the way Les manipulated the faux Arky talks into a contract extension.
It still leaves a bitter taste....

Yeah that whole deal was alitttle messed up. Media blows shite out of proportion so I tried not to get worked up about it.

Leveraging Arky for an extension and his handling of Jarrett Lee go down as the low points of his tenure. I will never understand why JJ was starting when he hardly deserved the backup role on the team.

GOD DAMMMIT WOULD ANYONE PAY FREAKING ATTENTION...ANYONE....
Just look up margin of VICTORY over the last 8 years....LSU is in top 10 virtually every year.
This is while playing in the best division of the best conference in college football.
And given your first premise is shite, it makes the remaining deductions stupid and short sighted.

I think from this year forward will be the real measure of CLM at LSU. Finally we have strong coordinators on both sides of the ball. I truly believe this is what's been missing on the offense. Coach Stud was ok but you know he wasn't gonna stand up to Les. When you have 3 offensive coordinators you have none. The Defense will be fine again. Top 15 defense is plenty good enough.

Lack of a decent SEC QB has hurt LSU more than anything during Miles' tenure at LSU.
Jennings and Rettig have given me hope for some offense.

I forgot you prescribe to the standards
The SEC west is the best division of the best conference in college football and LSU leads that division in titles since 2005.
The SEC is the most powerful conference in the nation and no SEC school has more SECCs in that powerful conference since 2005 than LSU.
LSU leads the most powerful conference in the NCAA in wins since 2005.
Since 2005, LSU leads teams playing in BCS conferences in wins.
Since 2005, LSU ranks at #2 in BCSCG appearences.
By any standard not ruled by retards, the last eight years are the greatest in LSU history and one of the top three in the nation based off results.
Only a retard would think otherwise or claim those results to be simply above average.

Why did it take Les 4 years to get it straight?

I'm biased being a Les homer (but with eyes wide open). To me, by and large, it's been good since 95. That 89-94 nadir still has a bad aftertaste.

I love threads like this. They show the utter stupidity of some of our fanbase.
