It’s not. Passing on numbers is. That’s my opinion. If you like it, cool.

Why is this a problem?

ETA: the 18 and 8 thing actually has some meaning, I’ll grant that. And if the players want to keep it going then more power to them.

The 7 thing, in my opinion, is actually detrimental. It bestows perfection on an imperfect player and just gives rantards a reason to melt about it later.

Great and not a problem. I just want to understand why.

Do you dislike all passed down traditions or just the number thing? Do team captains bother you?

And to that I have to ask why.

No, why would it?

So a tradition of naming team captains as a show of leadership doesn't bother you, but a number designation as a show of leadership does bother you.

Not sure why one show of leadership is fine but another show of leadership is considered stupid to you. That's what I'm trying to figure out here.

Just don’t care for the numbers. It’s not complicated.

The initial post was about the jersey number. It’s crazy how many cool records, accomplishments, etc. are in play at LSU.

My first impression as well. I mean, we just won #7, I wasn't even thinking about the jersey.

My guess would be Travinski or Millazo. Both have been in the program for their entire career and are noted selfless players.

Do y’all ever stop to consider that maybe the players actually care about it, despite it not being ‘cool’ to the fricking entitled idiots on frickin tigerdroppings?

Y’all make fun of a special type of recognition that y’all could never sniff

Me either, but my point still remains

If the players didn’t care, it wouldn’t be a thing. Tigerdroppings be damned
