Glad this one is over

Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong today but they do drop the lowest scores for RQS

Florida OU and UCLA had a meet like this last year also

Very uncharacteristic vault by Edwards
Priessman with a massive mistake on the low bar that she never does
The beam lineup a little shaky but its meet one
Desiderio fell on a pass she didn't sit once all fall
Edney going out of bounds

We had to count a fall on vault, I can't see that happening too often. Nice rotations on the other events though, overall a good starting point for the season.

First meets are typically the worst and when everything is up in the air

Adding Bailey Ferrer onto vault, bars and floor is going to change things substantially for this team.

She is a potential 9.9 scorer on each event.

I feel like the beam actually wasn't bad with all the new faces and changes but it takes time to develop some of these routines.

First Gym meet ever. We will definitely go again. The entire meet is an excellent production. Not to mention our girls are incredible.

Thanks for the updates and thanks for not putting 18,000 pictures with each update. I just like reading the updates and not having to scroll through all of the propaganda by others to read your posts. Thanks again.

My positive is that I’m extremely proud of them for fighting back after vault, and especially during the beam rotation where there are new faces. I thought the judges scored beam much tighter for both teams.

Overall, the team was better at 101, so I know there were first meet jitters and some uncharacteristic mistakes. I could tell how nervous Ruby and Edwards looked before their vaults and I knew the falls were coming. I think they definitely felt the nerves, and was just thinking about it too much. I do worry about form issues for Dean on bars and beam. I’m not sure if she will be able to score much higher than a 9.825-9.85 on beam and a 9.8 on bars. Christina is not conditioned enough on floor just yet in my opinion. I’m sure she will be better by midseason though.

I have to also add, I hope Florida has their usual slow start since that meet is in two weeks. I do wonder if they are already at a disadvantage by not having a meet this weekend.

We are about a month out from some softball. Looking forward to seeing how the girls are doing pretty soon.

Honestly I am not worried about Edwards on vault. It seemed like first meet of the season nerves got to her. That 101 vault was spectacular, she would very consistent last year.

I agree with you about Dean on bars. Kirby/Ferrer will be taking over that. She is not the same gymnast on bars that she was in 2016 before her injury. Her handstands use to be much better, her release lacks amplitude. The double layout is screaming deductions.

Dean actually is solid on beam. I do think she incurred that .10 deduction from waiting too long, with the new rules. The only thing that worries me about her routine on beam is her leaps.

I do think this team really missed having Ferrer in the lineup as she will immediately impact the leg events.

I am very optimistic about Durante on beam, she needs some meets to work through nerves.

Florida was literally scoring 196's 70% of the year last year. It was truly awful with the talent they had

I read through this, and I still can't determine if LSU won or lost.

Sorry for my gymnastics ignorance.

OMG - DRAMA !!!

If you just wanted updates without pictures you needed to go no further than the first six posts of this thread. The events, participants, participant's scores, and rotation totals were all listed and updated.

But you had to scroll through every post. You must have needed some DRAMA in your life.

I like looking at and posting pictures of chicks. You must not like looking at pictures of chicks. Nothing wrong with that. But these pictures are of people that are a HUGE part of why this thread exists since they are of the LSU gymnasts.

Propaganda? I don't think a lot of people on this board know what the word "propaganda" means. I think it is more of your need for DRAMA.

Dude, you really need to chill the frick out. There is no reason to attack that particular poster. He is as loyal of a women's sports fan as we have on this board and he is the furthest thing from a "drama queen"

The purpose of game threads is to discuss the game that is going on such that anyone can click the thread at any time and quickly scan it to get caught up with what is happening. People sometimes depend on these threads to keep up with the event.

Cluttering up the page with pictures, while well intentioned on your part, actually makes it very difficult to follow the thread.

Posters who have visited this site for a number of years, like the one who you attacked above, are accustomed to clicking on a game thread and being able to scan it without dealing with a bunch of pics.

That goes for every sport. I dare you to go into a baseball or football game thread and post a million pics that make the thread hard to read. See how well that goes for you.

Maybe take a hint and don't do it again next time.

And maybe be glad that you are even allowed to post on this site. If I were running this board, I would have banned your sorry arse for the post above. It was totally uncalled for.

357, anyway you can have a post under the last event total, in this case floor ex, which give a running total of both teams scores? The first post of this kind came on Page 4.

Derek, if you prefer, I'm sure Coach O would change your title to Minister of Drama.

Yes, I'm looking forward to the upcoming season as well. I got to watch a little fall ball and I'm sure we will just fine this season. We lost some great players, but we some great ones coming up as well. This year will be their time to shine.

Thanks 9295 for the kind words. I want able to livestream where I was at so the thread was my lifeline to keeping up with the meet last night. As soon as I got back from the Fiesta Bowl, our soccer team needed someone to drive their school bus to Fort Worth for a tournament. I was cheering for our SAA Tigers and LSU Tigers at the same time, so being able to read instead of scrolling through so many pictures made it more difficult than it needed to be. He knows how I feel already so I'm not shocked by the response. I was a coach and a principal for over 30 years and I'm used to saying my peace and dealing with the brush fire that could occur afterwards... lol

ETA... fixed a grammatical mistake...
