Flags on game changing calls.

A 3rd and out turning into a 1st down because of interference.

This would be so obvious, fans would riot at SEC offices. It would have to be subtle as hell for people to not know what's going on.

i'm sure other people listened to the svp show yest but they had a guy say the line for stanford would have been about 7 point and every other team would be double-digits. lsu is the closest at 5.5. the "experts" say we lose but the nation says we win.

how easy would it be for vegas to contact an official and tell him that he better not allow lsu to win this one? to me, it would be very very simple.
I hear you man, but at some point it becomes way to obvious with the world watching.

You are being paranoid. The same thing could happen if someone said lsu better win.

Go back and watch the pit/wvu game in 07. That was the worst referee hack job I have ever seen. They did everything in their power to get wvu to the tittle game.

In the end it just wasn't enough.

Ok, but then what happens? We get flags every other play? If this were to happen LSU fans might literally go insane

All it takes is one or two calls in key situations to change momentum, especially when two teams are this evenly matched.

So what if LSU fans go insane? What are we going to do about it?

I'm not a big blame the refs guy. I usually think it's a retarded cop out, but LSU has been a part of too many games in the state of Alabama with controversial officiating for it not to worry me a little bit tonight.

i disagree with that. if the head ref. does everything in his power, believe me, he can control the outcome of any game.

It's all about the "subjective" calls.

Holding/Not Holding, Pass Interference/No PI, and even ball spots can screw you. 09 proved even the replay booth can screw you.

These are the ones that always seem to go against us in Alabama.

Pay attention to them.

The one thing I take solace in is that with the hype being so crazy for this game EVERY college football fan and reporter will be watching this game. If there is anything like that or the AU calls I think we will get a rematch in the NC if stanford and OSU lose. People would want a neutral site with neutral refs.

of course. every lsu fan was interested in that one. however, my point was that if he did EVERYTHING in his power, he would have controlled the outcome of the game. in this case, he must not have done EVERYTHING. you get it?

for the conspiracy nuts in this thread, go to vegasinsider.com, its a public site and it lists the % bet on each sie in every game. Only the uniformed think the bets are 50-50 and they collect juice. They have been getting killed by big favorites in CFB all year. LSU, Bama Standford and OU have been covering machines all year. Same thing happens in the pros. Acouple of years ago they lost money on the NFL because favorites covered most games. They get waaaay more action on the SB than this LSU Bama game, while they don't want to lose, its not worth the risk to try and fix a game for "vegas". Sports books and casinos are owned and run by big corporations these days, not the mob.

Do you people not understand how a sportsbook works? After the initial line the action moves the spread. The spread adjusts to even out the betting and risk to the sports book. This is math way beyond experts just picking some random number. The sportsbook doesnt care who wins or loses just that people place the bets. The spread ensures the bets are even. Or in theory at least. If they could not even out the bets on a game with a spread they would not offer the game. A giant corporation wouldn't give you the chance to beat the house.
